Role Description The Physician is responsible for supervising and providing necessary and desirable medical care within the Physician’s specialty to Dartmouth-Hitchcock patients, consistent with the policies and procedures of DHC, the facility at which care is rendered, and the directions of the Service Line Leader or his/her designee. If the Physician’s specialty is such that call coverage is required, it is expected that the Physician will rotate call coverage with those physicians and allied health professionals in his or her specialty (as applicable) so that each provider, including the Physician, has a comparable amount of on call time during nights, weekends, and holidays for providing coverage outside of standard business hours. Parties expect that while on call, physician shall remain in close proximity as directed by department chair or designee. In addition to the Physician’s clinical responsibilities, the Physician will spend sufficient and reasonable time on administrative and record-keeping matters pertaining to the Physician’s medical practice.
