• Scale systems that power payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as volume and complexity increase. • Design services that move and reconcile money across parties, while making results clear and traceable for partners. • Support new businesses as they migrate large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure. • Use AI to automate complex operational workflows, such as tax notice triage and reducing manual employer setup work.

• Own filing payment operations end-to-end within your scope (e.g., assigned jurisdictions) • Diagnose and resolve complex tax notices • Drive complex corrections and reconciliations • Partner with R&D / Product and cross-functional ops teams to inform system behavior • Identify patterns across payments + notices and propose improvements

• Own a defined set of federal, state, and local tax agencies end-to-end, including notice resolution, correspondence, corrections, and ongoing compliance across your portfolio • Be the direct point of contact with agencies: picking up the phone, navigating agency processes, and following through until issues are fully resolved • Communicate directly with partners about what's happening with their notices or tax accounts • Balance and reconcile tax accounts within your agency portfolio, surfacing discrepancies and driving resolution • Manage a queue of tax issues across your agencies, balancing urgency and complexity without losing track of what's open • Recognize when patterns in your portfolio point to a larger systemic issue and bring that signal to the right people

• Define and prioritize projects that make our payroll infrastructure more powerful and more resilient as we scale • Lead product execution with a bold, opinionated approach, pushing the boundaries of payroll solutions while addressing customer challenges with urgency • Engage with cross-functional experts from our business, engineering, and payroll operations teams to align on strategic goals • Connect directly with Check’s partners—software companies across diverse verticals—to understand their daily challenges and identify opportunities for scaling their payroll businesses • Develop a comprehensive roadmap in partnership with engineering and operations, outlining actionable strategies to build the infrastructure our partners need to scale

• Run the team's operating rhythm: stand ups, queue visibility, escalation paths, and cross-functional coordination • Learn the work well enough to step in on coverage gaps, complex escalations, or situations where a senior hand is needed • Help shape how the team operates: documentation, workflows, escalation paths, communication standards • Identify patterns across the team's work and bring forward recommendations, not just observations • Partner directly with the head of the department as a thought partner on team strategy, resourcing, and operational decisions
