Role Description The Liability Claims Litigation Adjuster position is responsible for the investigation, administration, litigation and settlement of complex automobile, property and general liability claims. This person must perform coverage, liability and damage analysis, maintain timely correspondence and determine the best course of action with a high level of autonomy, while working closely with clients, their employees and attorneys as a seasoned claims expert. This a remote position for Wisconsin residents. Position Summary The Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating liability and APD claims and determining settlement value, if any, based on the individual merits and available defenses of each claim. Role Description The Field Case Manager position is responsible for assessing and analyzing information pertinent to injured employees to evaluate the medical and vocational needs required to facilitate the patient’s rehabilitation in order to promote appropriate and timely return to work. This person will act as a liaison between patient/family, employer, provider(s), healthcare personnel, adjusters, and attorneys involved in workers’ compensation claims. Essential Functions - Obtains medical history of the injured employee and a signed medical release form when appropriate for medical care coordination purposes. - Requests, obtains, and reviews medical records. - Assesses and analyzes an injured employee’s medical and vocational status. - Develops a plan of care to facilitate the patient’s appropriate and timely return to work; coordinates with the employer when appropriate. - Interviews patients in the physician office, home and/or work site to provide ongoing case management services. - Communicates both in-person and telephonically with patients, medical providers, adjusters, attorneys, and vendors. - Schedules appointments for implementation and follow-up of treatment plan. - Coordinates and monitors progress and completion of vendor referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services for patients. - Ensures transportation and translation are available for the injured employee to attend medical appointments when appropriate. - Accompanies the injured employees during physician consultations when appropriate. - Conferences with specialists concerning course of care and treatment. - Ensures all injured employees’ and employers’ concerns are addressed by the physicians. - Ensures injured employees understand diagnosis of their injury/illness, and any instructions and recommendations regarding treatment when appropriate. - Provides consistent monitoring, contact, support, and education to injured employees to monitor patients’ progress toward desired outcomes, promote compliance, motivation, and address issues as they arise when appropriate. - With adjuster approval, coordinate necessary medical and rehabilitative care for injured employees including but not limited to appointments, medications, surgery, therapies, diagnostics, equipment, transportation, translation etc. - Establishes effective rapport with all professions involved in the injured employees’ rehabilitation process to facilitate treatment, optimum care, and successful return to work. - Provides comprehensive documentation detailing case management services, the injured employees’ progress with treatment plan, return to work status, maximum medical improvement, and significant events that meets company standards for content and format. - When appropriate coordinate return to work issues with the employer, to include job site analysis, ergonomic evaluation, etc. and present to the physician for review. - Maintains a working knowledge of up-to-date medical information including but not limited to medications, procedures, equipment, therapies, treatments, their uses, contraindications, side effects, etc. and provides research information to adjusters to assist with determinations of medical necessity and appropriateness. - Applies all laws and regulations relative to the provision of case management and rehabilitation services in the geographic region assigned. - Testifies as required to substantiate any relevant case work or documentation. - Timely completion of time and expense reporting per company guidelines. - Works closely with team of case managers and support staff. Job Summary The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end closing process, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. Responsibilities - Performing the month end close, including all relevant balance sheet and other reconciliations. - Support the invoice, collections teams with A/R, AP and other operational items. - Providing case and client analysis on business areas in conjunction with the business leaders and business development team. - Preparing month-end analysis on financial performance and Key Performance Indicators - Posting monthly Journal Entries and ensuring data accuracy in Deltek. - Set up and assist with monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies. These include trade debtors & creditors, sundry creditors & debtors, fixed assets, intangibles, prepayments, provisions, financial lease assets/liabilities & accrued expenses. - Carry out monthly allocation analysis across various TB GL Accounts inclusive but not limited to creditors, debtors, receivable, etc. - Prepare monthly designated Sweep Consolidation Bank Reconciliations - Review and reconcile US Region Employee Healthcare Benefits inclusive of journals, recharges and IODN setup. - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency - Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant accounting standards - Assist with the transition of business’ finance functions for existing acquisitions related to monthly financials’ mapping. - Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and analysis - Assisting in various Ad Hoc Projects as required Requirements - Deltek system experience is strongly preferred - Bachelor’s degree with major in Finance and/or Accounting - 5-7 years of professional experience in accounting, reporting and/or auditing with large global corporation or shared services environment. - Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP (IFRS knowledge is a plus). - Detail oriented with strong financial analysis, organizational and stress management skills. - Identify opportunities and lead digital transformation by automating manual tasks - Very strong Excel, VBA and SQL; Proficiency preferred with skills in managing, automating, and manipulating large data. - Adept at building relationships, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and ability to work cross-functionally. - Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule. - Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. - Highly motivated and dedicated. - Cognos Controller, TM1, SUN6, Info Q&A, CMA, FileTrac knowledge is a plus. We are seeking a seasoned workers’ compensation adjuster to join our Third-Party Administration team. This is a remote role, open to candidates who live in California. Job Summary The Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster is responsible for managing all aspects of a workers compensation claim which includes determining compensability, verifying coverage, administering disability and medical benefits, skillfully negotiating claim resolutions, troubleshooting and assisting injured employees, employers and medical/legal professionals with any service needs throughout the lifespan of a claim. Essential Functions - Receives newly reported claims - Maintains and updates claim notes throughout lifespan of claim - Records claim information in electronic database - Interviews claimants, insureds, medical professionals and witnesses to determine claim validity - Communicates claim compensability decisions to claimant, employer and medical provider - Sets appropriate reserves based on nature/extent of injury - Calculates lost time wages, makes disability payments directly to claimants and diaries future payments as appropriate - Orders independent medical examination as necessary and prepares all relevant documentation for physician review - Maintains regular correspondence with claimants, insureds, and nurse case manager to include claim updates, medical appointments, or issues with disability payments - Reviews and processes medical bills through third-party vendor for additional discount opportunities - Aggressively collaborates with claimants and insureds to ensure early return-to-work is pursued - Works in partnership with legal counsel to warrant that insured’s interests are protected on litigated claims which includes providing all relevant claim documentation needed for defense counsel to successfully defend claim and evaluate ultimate claim exposure - Attends settlement conferences, mediations, and hearings on behalf of the insurance company/insured - Reviews and approves defense attorney bills within authority - Works with underwriting to help provide relevant information on losses for renewal rates as well as Risk Management to identify trends and may interact with agents for insureds on losses - Responds to State requests for health cost disputes, applications for hearings and penalty assessment letters - Identifies subrogation potential and pursues recovery - Leads claim reviews with clients as requested - Other duties as assigned Requirements - 10 years of experience adjusting Workers Compensation Claims in California required - SIP Certification required - Bilingual (Spanish/English) required - Must be current with CEU's - Proficiency in entire Microsoft Office suite - Knowledge of relevant workers compensation laws - Strong grasp of medical terminology - Familiarity with medical cases and how treatment typically progresses - Excellent oral and written communication abilities - Attention to detail and good organization skills - Ability to negotiate issues and settlements - Strong focus on customer service which includes timely response to requests/inquiries - Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Charles Taylor offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401(K) with match.
