Role Description We’re looking for a highly skilled Computational Scientist with deep expertise in computational electromagnetics, numerical methods, scientific computing, and mathematical modeling. This role will focus on the research, development, validation, and optimization of finite-difference time-domain algorithms for modeling complex electromagnetic phenomena. This is a highly specialized research role centered on advancing FDTD methods, improving numerical accuracy and stability, evaluating algorithmic tradeoffs, and developing computationally efficient implementations for high-performance simulation environments. - Conduct in-depth research and development of FDTD algorithms for computational electromagnetics. - Translate electromagnetic theory and advanced mathematical concepts into robust, discrete computational formulations. - Perform validation and accuracy studies against analytical solutions, published benchmarks, and established simulation methods. - Document research findings, algorithm designs, validation results, and technical recommendations for internal stakeholders. - Contribute to long-term research direction for advanced electromagnetic simulation capabilities. Qualifications - Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong focus on computational electromagnetics. - Strong experience with finite-difference time-domain methods, Maxwell’s equations, wave propagation, and numerical electromagnetics. - Ability to evaluate published methods, compare algorithmic approaches, and develop novel or improved computational techniques. - Proficiency in advanced calculus, vector calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and modeling of physical phenomena. - Programming skills in Python, Julia, C/C++, MATLAB. - Ability to clearly articulate research findings to both technical and non-technical leadership. - Exposure to hardware acceleration, HPC, or GPU/FPGA technologies is beneficial. - Startup experience. - Government clearance is preferred. Requirements - $150,000–$220,000 per year (California). This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role; the final offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location. • Work in a System Verilog/UVM environment developing tests, testbenches, UVM components, and regressions/test lists. • Develop formal verification procedure for complex silicon IP. • Verify FPGA designs, including SOC architectures, design and implement test benches for both unit level and system level environments, and create reusable verification environments that can be used across multiple projects. • Be responsible for generating and executing the FPGA Verification Test Plan and FPGA Verification Matrix. • Oversee verification contractors and junior verification engineers. • Work in a fast-paced startup environment on a variety of products. • Work collaboratively and in tandem with system architects, FPGA design engineers, and embedded software engineers across different timezones. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across departments.
R&D Engineer

• Perform in-depth research and analysis on preexisting HPC algorithms. • Translate advanced mathematical concepts (e.g. calculus) into discrete, computationally friendly models. • Conduct competitive analysis (tools, algorithms, performance benchmarks) and report findings to leadership. • Collaborate with the Hardware Architect to define PoC features and systems requirements. • Provide performance estimations and benchmarking data throughout the project.

• Maintain clean, accurate, and well-documented books, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and accurately • Categorize, track, and manage employee stock options, equity compensation and schedules, and related investments in coordination with leadership and external advisors • Leverage equity management platform to update stock options, ensure 409A valuation is conducted in accordance with non-qualified deferred compensation plans • Recognize stock-based compensation expense over applicable vesting periods • Maintain equity schedules and support option grants, exercises, and cancellations • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations • Support month-end and year-end close processes • Review and manage A/R and A/P, ensure all invoices and reimbursements are paid in time • Provide guidance and recommendations on improving accounting systems, workflows, financial controls • Lead or support the migration from basic tools to more robust platforms • Monitor budget, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions solutions to ensure Bolt Graphics remains aligned with assigned budgets.
