Role Description We are growing and looking for a Technical Project Manager to drive complex infrastructure projects from award through closeout. In this role, you will own scope, schedule, budget, and margin while coordinating engineering, field crews, manufacturing, subcontractors, and vendors across active data center and power projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering, operations, and customer teams — serving as the single point of accountability that keeps multi-trade, multi-site projects on track and on budget. This is a fully remote role and can be based anywhere, with the ability to travel to active project sites as needed. What You’ll Do - Own complex infrastructure deployment projects end-to-end — scope, schedule, budget, risk, and margin — from award through commissioning and closeout - Coordinate engineering, field crews, manufacturing, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple trades and sites - Build and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and report status to internal leadership and customers - Manage the documentation discipline — submittals, RFIs, change orders, issued-for-construction releases, and commissioning records - Run change control and scope management, protecting margin while keeping the customer relationship strong - Coordinate material procurement and logistics, including long-lead equipment and cross-border shipments where required - Drive commissioning, hand-off, and after-sales / hypercare support in partnership with the field and engineering teams - Track project performance against contract requirements and customer commitments, and drive corrective action when projects drift Qualifications - 8+ years of experience managing technical infrastructure, construction, electrical, or data center deployment projects - Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and margin on complex, multi-stakeholder projects - Experience coordinating field crews, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple trades - Strong command of project documentation — submittals, RFIs, change orders, and commissioning - Excellent organization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills - Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and customer teams - Willingness to travel to project sites (estimated 25–50%) Experience in the Following Areas is a Plus - Data center or AI infrastructure deployment — structured cabling, fiber, liquid cooling, or GPU systems - Electrical or power systems projects — switchgear, MV/LV distribution, or marine and defense - PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification - Scheduling and PM tooling — MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, or Zoho Projects - Experience with cross-border logistics or international project delivery Benefits - 401(k) - Dental insurance - Health insurance - Paid time off - Vision insurance Why Join BNS? Role Description The IT Infrastructure Technical Lead will lead a geographically dispersed team of highly skilled installation technicians responsible for deploying structured cabling and IT infrastructure in colocation facilities, hyperscale and enterprise data centers, telecommunications offices, and military and commercial ships. This role ensures consistent delivery of high-quality and detail-oriented installations that meet rigorous technical, safety, and security standards. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with proven field leadership experience—capable of managing remote teams, complex logistics, and diverse project environments spanning both commercial and government (Including DoD) sectors. Key Responsibilities - Leadership & Team Management - Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed team of IT infrastructure and structured cabling technicians. - Coordinate resource allocation, project scheduling, and staffing for multiple concurrent projects across various regions and environments. - Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. - Conduct performance evaluations and ensure ongoing technical training and certification compliance. - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technologies and solutions to both team members and customers. - Operational Oversight - Oversee installation of structured cabling systems (fiber optic, copper), racks, cabinets, power distribution, and network equipment. - Ensure all installations meet applicable standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, NEC, and military specifications (MIL-STD, NAVSEA, etc.). - Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance processes across all projects. - Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and engineering teams to manage materials, shipping, and equipment readiness for global deployments. - Ensure compliance with safety, physical security, and environmental requirements across all facilities and vessels. - Project & Stakeholder Management - Plan, execute, and monitor multiple build-out projects simultaneously across diverse environments. - Interface with internal and external stakeholders including data center operators, telecommunications providers, shipyard personnel, and government/military clients. - Provide detailed project status reporting, risk assessments, and resource forecasts to senior leadership. - Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance and enforce contractual and technical compliance. - Technical & Strategic Leadership - Stay current on evolving technologies, cabling standards, and installation best practices across IT, telecom, and defense sectors. - Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for installation or operational issues. - Contribute to the development of new installation methodologies and design improvements for enhanced reliability and maintainability. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, structured cabling, or telecommunications installation. - 5+ years managing geographically dispersed or field-based technical teams. - Demonstrated experience leading projects in colocation, hyperscale, and enterprise data centers, telecom central offices, and/or military/commercial shipboard environments. - Deep knowledge of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, network infrastructure, and power systems. - Working familiarity with TIA/EIA-568, BICSI standards, and MIL-STD installation requirements. - Experience with office and collaboration software, such as Excel, Word, Visio, Project, Planner, Teams and other tools as needed. - Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances as required by project or client. - Valid passport and ability to travel abroad. - Ability to travel up to 80% (domestic and international). Preferred - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field. - Certifications: - BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or BICSI Technician certification. - Fluke CCTT, Commscope, Levition, Panduit manufacturer certifications. - CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA. - OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or equivalent safety training. - NAVSEA Cableway Certification (for shipboard installations). - Project Management Professional (PMP) or ITIL Foundation certification. - Military Experience: Prior U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, or other military experience in Information Systems Technician (IT), Electronics Technician (ET), or Hull/Machinery Systems (EM/MM/IC) fields highly desirable. - Familiarity with military cabling, communications, and shipboard infrastructure systems. Role Description The Lead Field Service Engineer – Power Systems, under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks and ensures proper installation, service, and commissioning of products and services. This role provides technical support for installation and commissioning of projects and delivers maintenance, breakdown emergency support, and remote troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities - Performs installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations during ship construction. Must be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams. - Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective actions. - Performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of General Electric Power Conversion power systems and associated control systems. - Develops presentations and provides training and instruction to customers on system operations. - Promotes sales of services, parts, and Conversions, Modifications, and Upgrades (CM&Us). - Performs other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfaction. - Provides on-call support in response to customer calls for service. Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of field service and/or commissioning experience. - U.S. Citizen with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects. - Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% of the time on short notice. - Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore. Desired Characteristics - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 3 additional years of related field service experience in a field service/commissioning environment with power systems and associated control systems). - Switchgear – Medium Voltage and Low Voltage. - Circuit Breakers – MCCBs, ACBs, VCBs. - Sensing Instruments – PTs, CTs, Transducers. - Transformers – Phase shifting transformers for VFD applications. - Motor Control Centers (MCCs) – Basic starters with Start/Stop, Multi-Speed Starters, Wye-Delta Starters, Hand/Off/Auto control, Local/Remote control. - Soft Starters / Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). - Transfer Switches – Manual and Automatic. - Protection Relays – Generator, Transformer, Feeder, Motor, and Bus. - Enhanced generator protection schemes. - Power quality meters. - Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) – Generator excitation control for synchronizing and load sharing. - Governors – Engine speed control for synchronizing and load sharing. - Synchronizers / Sync Check Relays. - Load sharing systems. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and project teams, provide technical explanations, and de-escalate tense situations in high-pressure service environments. - Ability to execute increasingly complex assignments requiring strong engineering skills, creativity, and independent judgment.
