Role Description The Director of Revenue Accounting will serve as a leader and strategic partner within the accounting organization, with direct oversight of the end-to-end revenue recognition and other patient accounting processes for Aspen Dental. This role is responsible for improving, maintaining, and supporting net revenue recognition policies and accuracy. The Director will set the strategic direction for revenue accounting operations, establish and enforce internal controls, auditing/validation, and serve as a key liaison between Revenue Cycle Management, IT/Product, FP&A, Analytics, and external auditors. The position requires an individual who has a proficient understanding of revenue recognition in accordance with company and accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, CECL/ASC 310). The Director must be data-driven and be able to clearly articulate the methods applied to executives, operations, and doctors. This position has flexibility with work location and may require travel for onboarding and other needs. Responsibilities - Establish, enforce, and continuously improve accounting policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP for revenue recognition and patient accounting processes. - Build and maintain allowance models segmented by payor class, aging, etc. Ensure models are reconciled to the financials monthly. - Build and maintain collection waterfall models that track charges > contractual adjustments > expected collections > write offs and perform variance analysis to reported financials. - Build dashboards and trend reporting to monitor and corroborate models and reported financials and identify changes proactively. - Build and maintain models, analysis, and accuracy of other patient accounting processes such as product warranties, product guarantees, deposits, and healthcare financing fees. - Lead and approve revenue and patient accounting mapping strategy between practice management systems, data warehouses, and the general ledger, ensuring alignment with business and reporting requirements. - Oversee and review the preparation of standard and non-standard journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness on revenue/Net AR and other patient accounting processes. - Review and approve balance sheet and P&L reconciliations to financials monthly. - Develop and maintain proactive cross-functional partnerships with Revenue Cycle Management, IT/Product, and FP&A/Analytics leadership to define and drive revenue analytics, best practices, and system improvements. - Illustrate models and accounting methods and present to the business as required (operations, doctors, etc.). - Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, managing audit requests and ensuring the delivery of audit-ready documentation. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. - Experience within the healthcare or dental industry. - Experience with fee schedules, UCR rates, and how contractual rates flow into contractual and discretionary adjustments. - Experience with practice management systems and revenue cycle management processes. - 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-4 years in a healthcare or dental revenue cycle environment. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ability to leverage data tools and technology to drive process improvements. - Proficiency with tools such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, and SQL/databases. - Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, manage projects and competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. - Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. The Provider Enrollment Specialist plays a vital role within our Payor Strategy team. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the enrollment and credentialing for Aspen Dental providers with insurance payers and assigned dental plans. This role ensures timely and accurate submission of provider applications, updates and recredentialing to facilitate uninterrupted billing, reimbursement and patient care. The successful candidate will report to the Enrollment Manager. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare, submit and track payer enrollment applications for new providers and existing provider changes. - Maintain accurate records of all enrollment activities in the credentialing system. - Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers and internal departments to ensure applications are processed efficiently. - Monitor enrollment status and follow up with payers to resolve delays or issues. - Update provider demographic and practice information with all contract payers as needed. - Ensure recredentialing timelines and requirements are maintained so providers enrollment status remains intact with no lapses. - Work closely with Field Support, Operations, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to resolve any escalated enrollment or credentialing issues in a timely manner. - Research and resolve out of network claims issues by investigating provider participation status and effective dates of enrollment. - Coordinate temporary provider enrollments and ensure all necessary documentation, linkage and payer updates are completed. - Collaborate closely with RCM on status of provider enrollments including providing reports submission as needed. - Generate and maintain enrollment status reports. - Support audits, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 1- 3 years of experience in payor enrollment. - Working knowledge of commercial payors and government payor requirements. - Proficient in Microsoft office and credentialing software including but not limited to CAQH, Availity. - Strong attention to detail, organization and follow up skills. - Excellent communication and customer service abilities interacting with internal teammates and external clients. - Detail oriented, with strong level of analytical and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities - Maintain Lighthouse Queue and the Lighthouse Tracker spreadsheet: - Research cases in Lighthouse Print queue that are missing CAM files, 3ShapeCommunicate and or LabRx supporting data. - Prepare LabRx scripts for cases in Lighthouse Queue to be printed at Lighthouse Print: - Print LabRx scripts and sort based on print material batching. - Maintain the Lighthouse Billing Tracker. - Enter all cases from Lighthouse Portal into Lighthouse Case Tracker spread sheet which includes: - Ensuring design files are current and adequately stored for printing. - Suppling an all-encompassing reference list. - Ensuring accuracy for Finance to use for monthly billing. - Maintain Lighthouse queue support which includes: - Case tracking inquiries. - Responding to any office inquiries of case location, approximate delivery dates, and any additional questions. - Contacting designer or Lighthouse team to determine delivery estimation. - Manage Lighthouse Portal which includes: - Cross checking cases in the Lighthouse Portal (3Shape) for matching lab script in the to Designer Queue (LabRx). - Manage To Designer Queue which includes: - Cross checking cases in the To Designer Queue for matching cases in the Lighthouse Portal. - Instruct office team members on 3Shape Communication and LabRx protocols as needed. - Customer service support via phone, live chat agent, and ticketing system.
