Title: Part-Time Pet Resort Specialist Location: Chapel Hill United States Job Description: We are seeking a Part-Time Kennel Assistant to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital. The Kennel Assistant is responsible for maintaining back of hospital duties. These tasks include: caring for boarding animals, maintaining appropriate feeding schedules/providing prescribed medication to pets, maintaining the kennel area (cleaning and mopping), bathing animals and upholding the highest level of care for all pets. Additional duties may include general cleaning of the hospital and communicating directly with clients. • Identify and source relief veterinarian talent through resume databases, professional directories, practice websites, social media platforms, and targeted strategies. • Generate and maintain a pipeline of relief veterinarians through targeted email campaigns to passive candidates and prior applicants. • Conduct phone screens with prospective candidates to assess rate expectations, travel radius, and scheduling availability. • Manage full-cycle onboarding for relief veterinarians, including credential verification, scheduling platform setup, and coordination with internal teams to ensure readiness for their first shift. • Assist relief veterinarians with onboarding logistics by coordinating with Accounts Payable and HR to ensure smooth setup of I-9, Paycom, direct deposit and resolution of invoice-related questions. • Collaborate with Scheduling Operations Specialists to onboard newly hired relief veterinarians and integrate them into both General Practice and UrgentVet hospital schedules using the Vetcher scheduling platform. • Facilitate introductions and coordination between Relief DVMs and Practice Managers, Regional Medical Directors, and Regional Directors as needed to support scheduling and hospital coverage. • Conduct targeted re-engagement outreach to relief veterinarians who have not yet completed their first shift, providing support and guidance to help them become active on the schedule. • Maintain and update the candidate database and CRM (Pinpoint) to ensure accurate records, engagement tracking, and pipeline management. • Provide market intelligence on relief veterinarian trends and competitive insights to the Recruiting Team. • Partner with the Recruiting Team to continuously improve sourcing strategies, workflow efficiency, quality of work, and candidate conversion rates. • Represent American Veterinary Group and UrgentVet at local and national veterinary conferences to promote relief opportunities and build relationships with veterinary professionals.
• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) candidates within the recruiter’s geographic region. This includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, scheduling, and negotiating offers for veterinarian candidates. • Generate a pipeline of interested candidates via targeted email campaigns to both passive candidates and prior applicants. • Manage expectations and timelines of both candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. • Contribute to the maintenance, accuracy, and growth of the ATS/CRM (Pinpoint) through accurate record-keeping and organization of candidates and leads. • Fill DVM positions in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on proper lead placement and DVM retention. • Report to senior recruiting and operations management regarding the status of all open requisitions in region, including any observed bottlenecks in the process. • Plan, attend, and staff on-campus recruiting efforts at Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in recruiter’s region, including but not limited to career fairs, virtual events, lectures, and conferences.
