Title: Senior Coordinator, Programs and Events Location: Reston United States Job Description: The Structural Engineering Institute of American Society of Civil Engineers (SEI/ASCE) - representing more than 30,000 structural engineers globally - is currently seeking an experienced Senior Coordinator for SEI Programs and Events to provide operational support for all SEI conferences and events as well as comprehensive marketing and production support for SEI's webinar program and operational support for SEI conferences. This role reports to the SEI Senior Conference Manager and ensures the successful planning, promotion, and execution of SEI conferences, events, webinars, conferences, and related initiatives. Position will also support events outside of SEI as needed and assigned by supervisor, especially for CI, AEI, and IRD. Meetings, Conference, Events, Meetings and Webinar Responsibilities: - Coordinate with presenters to ensure the timely and professional delivery of content for webinars and conferences, events, and webinars - Collaborate with Continuing Education and Publications departments to ensure accurate and timely production of webinars and related materials - Oversee pre-conference and event logistics, including signage, badges, and registration materials - Coordinate with the Sales department and sponsors to fulfill sponsorship deliverables - Manage hotel and on-site logistics for conferences and smaller meetings - Maintain conference websites, including program updates - Manage the conference evaluation process and reporting - Assist in developing and tracking event budgets Marketing Responsibilities: - Manage marketing efforts for events and webinars and publications to maximize visibility, engagement, and attendance - Proofread promotional and editorial content for email campaigns, newsletters, and other communications - Ensure successful execution of marketing plans for events and webinars - Assist with website updates and social media promotion (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram) for programs and events Customer Service and Administrative Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality customer service to speakers, sponsors, attendees, and stakeholders - Support administrative processes related to events, webinars, and publications - Perform other duties as assigned Ideal candidate will have: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Asana Project Management - Understanding of the principles of marketing and communications - At least three years of similar work experience - Association or volunteer management experience - A desire to travel occasionally to conferences and meetings The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a global nonprofit professional membership association dedicated to the advancement of the civil engineering profession in order to serve the public good. Title: Part-Time Program Coordinator Location: Reston United States Job Description: The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) seeks a part-time (20 hours a week) program coordinator to provide administrative and customer support for the Civil Engineering Certification (CEC) program. This position provides customer service/applicant management, data management, reporting and tracking, record-keeping, administrative support, and assistance/preparation for annual renewal efforts and certification program improvements. Responsibilities include: - Responding to all inquiries for the certification program, requirements, and process details - Processing applications (downloading/organizing application materials for review) and submitting data to review committees - Processing certification materials, composing correspondence, and preparing, assembling, and mailing certification packets and other correspondence - Maintaining and updating certification records and transactions in the database - Developing and maintaining a digital filing system for all applicants of CEC certifications including re-organization and management of shared CEC email accounts - Generating program reports tracking program performance/metrics to meet accreditation requirements (including applications, new certifications awarded, and renewals) - Identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements/efficiencies in certification operations - Assisting manager in maintaining program compliance and on-time reporting with all accrediting agencies - Assisting in the development, maintenance & distribution of all documentation, including policy and procedure manuals - Assisting with promotion and communications activities such as: - Responding to all CEC outreach requests for program materials at industry events/conferences - Coordinating publication submissions related to promoting CEC and its' certification programs The ideal candidate will have: - Two- or four-year degree or equivalent work experience - 2-3 years of experience working with an Association in the certification field or similar (preferred) - Proficiency with MS Office Suite and an AMS or CRM - Demonstrated success providing administrative and logistical program support - Must prioritize tasks, manage time, multi-task and meet deadlines - Strong written communication skills including proofreading and copy-editing - Strong customer service skills and flexibility - Must work in a team environment and independently The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a leading nonprofit professional membership association dedicated to the advancement of civil engineering to protect the health, safety, and welfare. Director, Standards Location: Reston United States Full Time Job Description: ASCE is seeking an experienced Director, Standards to lead our centralized Standards Office. This is a high‑impact role overseeing the strategy, growth, and general direction of ASCE's cross-organizational standards development operations. What You'll Do As Director, Standards, you will guide the strategy, quality, and impact of ASCE's standards activities. In this leadership role, you will: - Direct the ongoing activities of the Standards Office, assuring goals, budgets, and priorities are developed and objectives are successfully achieved - Create and maintain an overarching Standards Development Plan to guide content strategy and portfolio/product development - Conduct market research to assess the need for and likelihood of use and adoption of ASCE standards and supporting products in various subdisciplines of civil engineering - Create and manage budget, financial product plans, and P&L - Collaborate with colleagues throughout the organization, at other SDOs and professional societies, at governmental agencies, and so forth to actively stimulate the initiation of new standards-related activities, products, and programs - Ensure ANSI-accredited Rules compliance; maintain Rules and procedures - In collaboration with ASCE's Engineering Programs and Government Relations staff teams, execute strategies to accelerate broad adoption and incorporation of standards into regulatory code - Contribute to standards product-related strategy with leadership in other ASCE divisions (Engineering Programs, Publications, Education, Membership, Conferences, Business Development, and others) - Increase volunteer engagement in standards committees and activities What You Bring - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, management, marketing, or standards development - Broad knowledge of standards development and strong business acumen - 10-12 years of experience in a professional association or society, including supervisory experience - Experience in STM publishing, market research, and/or strategic leadership is strongly preferred - Strong leadership, communication, relationship‑building, and decision‑making skills - Demonstrated success managing a team of 5 with potential future department growth - Willingness to travel as needed to standards committee meetings (if not local to Reston VA), as well as code hearings, conferences, and other events Why ASCE?
