Role Description The Software Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support ALCOVA Mortgage’s internal operations, integrations, and business processes. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and efficient applications and services, with an emphasis on API integrations, automation, and cloud-native development. This position requires strong collaboration with business stakeholders, other Technology teams, and third-party vendors to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions that enhance productivity and support company growth. Duties and Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, services, and integrations - Build and maintain APIs, webhooks, and integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms (including Encompass and other mortgage-related systems) - Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes - Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle - Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines - Deploy and manage applications within Microsoft Azure - Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code - Perform code reviews and contribute to development standards - Ensure applications meet security and compliance requirements - Maintain and improve existing systems - Create and maintain technical documentation - Stay current with emerging technologies - Assist in evaluating third-party tools and services - Provide support for production systems - Additional duties as assigned Qualifications - 5+ years of software development experience - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience - Proficiency in Python and JavaScript (Node.js) - Experience with RESTful APIs and webhooks - Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices - Experience with Microsoft Azure - Database experience - Strong understanding of development principles - Experience with Git - Troubleshooting skills - Strong attention to detail - Communication skills - Ability to work remotely - Ability to manage priorities - Initiative and accountability - Preferred: Mortgage industry or Encompass experience - Preferred: Docker or containerization - Preferred: Infrastructure as code - Preferred: Security best practices knowledge - Preferred: Legacy system modernization - Preferred: AI Technology and assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot), APIs, Vector databases, etc. Work Environment This position operates in a remote work environment using standard office equipment. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, standing for extended periods of time may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Travel Occasional business travel may be required by private vehicle or airline carriers with overnight stays in modern facilities at times. Regional traffic conditions when traveling by car to-and-from business appointments. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at current IRS allowable rates. Expected Hours of Work Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Role Description The Closer will be responsible for closing all loans according to the proper product type, investor, agency and internal guidelines, state and federal guidelines, and all ALCOVA Mortgage processes and procedures in an accurate and timely manner. The Closer is responsible for the accurate preparation of compliant closing documents to ensure that they are salable on the secondary market. The Closer will communicate with internal staff and outside agencies to facilitate all closing issues in a timely manner. Duties and Responsibilities - Prepares closing documents based on loan product parameters and sends closing documents to settlement agency once loans are clear to close. - Balances Closing Disclosure with settlement agent and issues Final Closing Disclosure to be signed by Borrower at closing. - Clears any open loan conditions dependent on loan parameters. Role Description The Processor plays an integral role in the mortgage origination loan process within ALCOVA Mortgage. The Processor is responsible for reviewing and validating all information presented on the Loan Application by the borrower. Processors work closely with Loan Officers and borrowers to ensure loan applications are thoroughly completed and adhere to Company, investor, and industry established standards. The Processor must have excellent 'people skills' and be driven with the desire to make sure every client has a positive experience with ALCOVA Mortgage. Duties and Responsibilities - Handles all areas of mortgage loan processing, such as: - Analyzing income and asset documentation - Reviewing appraisals, sales contracts, and titles - Submitting files to an Automated Underwriting System - Processing loans in Encompass (loan origination system) - Ordering mortgage insurance - Collects documentation as required to support information provided on the loan application - Ensures accuracy and completeness of all files and submits completed loan files to Underwriting - Thoroughly reviews and resolves any and all documentation or factual discrepancies prior to submission of the loan to the Underwriting Department - Reviews file documentation to ensure all necessary items have been requested (e.g., purchase contracts, bankruptcy papers, trust documents, etc.) - Orders third-party reports - Maintains dialogue with Loan Officers, Branch Managers, borrowers, lenders, title companies, and other parties as needed - Must maintain mortgage loan information confidentiality - May manage multi-state loan pipeline of loans - Communicates to Processing Manager if unable to achieve a timeline or to resolve an error - Escalates any suspected fraudulent files to Compliance Team - Manages key dates, such as: - Lock expiration - Contingency date - Contract date - Credit doc expiration - All compliance related dates - Partners with Loan Officers and Underwriters on difficult and/or exception transactions - Assists Quality Control, Closing, and Post-Closing Departments on loan files, when necessary Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent - Minimum of at least one year of mortgage processing experience required.
