• Positioning and messaging including the modernization AI-inside-the-database narrative for legacy database buyers making long-overdue infrastructure decisions, and cross-sell narrative that makes database customers the starting point for the broader Actian portfolio. Own the messaging that gives sellers a reason to go wider in every account • Monthly product launches end to end: from launch messaging through full BOM delivery, coordinated across product management, web, design, and sales enablement • Field enablement content: datasheets, pitch decks, prospecting guides, SDR sequences and training presentations and videos • Creation of MOFU and BOFU content for demand generation and cross-sell programs • Content and enablement for global user days, events, PR, and analyst briefings
• Spend a significant amount of your time writing high-quality backend code, taking on the most complex technical challenges yourself. • Guide the technical direction of your team using Scala and Python for robust backend data systems, and TypeScript for full-stack feature delivery. • Actively use and advocate for AI coding agents (like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools) within your daily workflow and teach your team how to use them efficiently to ship code faster. • Connect deeply with the product vision. You don't just build specs blindly; you understand the goals and optimize your technical choices to deliver the best product value. • Own the entire lifecycle of your team's features, ensuring they are designed for multi-tenant cloud scalability and successfully deployed to production. • Coach and unblock your 3-4 engineers through pair programming, deep code reviews, and technical guidance, raising the bar for the entire team. • Focus relentlessly on hitting team milestones, proactively removing blockers, and keeping team performance sharp. • Partner closely with Product Managers to refine features, challenge assumptions when necessary, and turn ambitious ideas into realistic technical tasks. • Take pride in what you ship. • Design and improve the cloud structure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) of our data platform, ensuring it works well for many clients at the same time. • Build a system ready for failures, capable of recovering automatically and keeping things running if there are issues in production. • Create clear APIs, templates, and common tools so internal developers can write code faster and with fewer mistakes. • Monitor and optimize the use of cloud servers and tools (like Kubernetes) to keep the product cost-effective to run. • Identify parts of the system that have become outdated and plan how to improve them step-by-step without stopping daily work. • Review team designs and define the company's technical standards, helping to resolve questions without becoming a bottleneck. • Ensure the platform's structure inherently protects customer data and complies with security rules from the very beginning. • Decide how we measure platform performance so that if something fails, we know exactly what happened within a few minutes. • Build quick prototypes and test new tools before deciding whether to adopt them company-wide.
• Design, write, and maintain robust automated E2E test suites that mimic real-world enterprise workflows on the Actian Data Intelligence Platform. • Build automated tests specifically designed to test the platform's stability, load capacity, and recovery under stress or failure conditions. • Embed your automated test suites seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) to provide developers with rapid feedback on every code change. • Write deep integration and API automated tests to verify data accuracy across our distributed architecture. • Partner closely with the Sustaining Engineering team to analyze production bugs, quickly writing automated tests to reproduce and permanently block them from returning. • Actively track, isolate, and rewrite unreliable tests to maintain total confidence in our automation results. • Work side-by-side with backend developers and product owners early in the lifecycle to map out automated testing strategies before the code is even written. • Leverage modern AI assistants and coding tools to generate test data, accelerate script writing, and debug test failures efficiently. • Write clean, modular, and reusable test scripts, conducting peer reviews with fellow QA engineers to keep the test codebase healthy. • Monitor feature-level QA metrics like test execution times, code coverage, and pass rates to continuously optimize the testing pipeline.
• Design, scale, and maintain robust automation frameworks capable of testing the complex SaaS and distributed data architectures of the Actian Data Intelligence Platform. • Embed automated test suites seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) to achieve true continuous integration and rapid feedback loops. • Drive deep integration, API, performance, resilience, and data-integrity automation across the entire product stack. • Act as the ultimate technical authority for the QA automation squad, establishing clean code standards for test scripts, conducting rigorous code reviews, and minimizing framework technical debt. • Coach junior automation engineers and guide functional QA testers in transitioning toward automated practices, ensuring everyone owns their automation targets. • Allocate engineering capacity effectively across feature testing, framework enhancement, and technical debt reduction. • Own the final quality sign-off for platform releases. Have the technical authority and conviction to halt deployments if quality thresholds are not met. • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Core Engineering, and DevOps to understand new features early, mapping out automation strategies before the code is written. • Partner with the Sustaining Engineering team to analyze production leaks, quickly writing automated tests to reproduce bugs and guarantee they never regress. • Treat flaky tests as a critical system anomaly. Track, isolate, and eliminate them to maintain absolute trust in the automation suite. • Track and report on key QA operational metrics (Test Coverage, Automation Pass Rates, Execution Time, and Defect Leakage Rate) to optimize delivery speed. • Pioneer the usage of modern AI tools to accelerate test case generation, optimize test suites, and intelligently predict defect hot-spots.
• Design and build multi-agent AI systems capable of self-planning, reflection, and executing complex, multi-step workflows without human intervention. • Build and integrate advanced AI coding agents into our internal SDLC to automate code generation, script refactoring, and automated code reviews. • Develop AI agents that can look at code changes, understand the context, and automatically generate, run, and fix integration and end-to-end tests. • Build agentic workflows that monitor production logs, identify platform anomalies, and autonomously execute initial triage, root-cause analysis, and patch recommendations. • Create robust function-calling architectures and tool-use layers, allowing AI agents to securely interact with our databases, APIs, and git repositories. • Implement advanced state machines and memory persistence frameworks to ensure agents maintain context and recover gracefully during long-running tasks. • Build strict deterministic guardrails around autonomous agents to prevent infinite loops, toxic outputs, or unauthorized code execution in production environments. • Constantly identify manual bottlenecks in engineering and product operations, building quick agentic prototypes to automate them away entirely.
• Design and maintain the core AI orchestration layers, centralized API gateways, and reusable frameworks (e.g., advanced RAG architectures, agentic frameworks) for company-wide consumption. • Collaborate directly with core engineering teams to embed production-ready generative AI and machine learning features into the Actian Data Intelligence Platform. • Establish strict guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring tools to track model performance, bias, data privacy, and security across all AI implementations. • Actively monitor and manage cloud and API compute spend (token management, open-source vs. commercial models) and optimize execution latency for production AI features. • Lead workshops, design blueprints, and create documentation to empower non-AI engineering teams to build and maintain their own AI-driven features confidently. • Drive the engineering execution of high-impact AI proof-of-concepts, ensuring they are built with production-grade code that scales seamlessly. • Define and enforce the organization's official AI stack, from vector database selection and vector embeddings strategies to semantic caching mechanisms. • Evaluate and manage partnerships with AI model providers and lead the technical assessment of cutting-edge open-source models to keep Actian at the vanguard of innovation. • Define and track operational metrics for the AI Enablement function, such as developer adoption rates, reduction in time-to-market for AI features, and ROI of implemented AI tools.

• Design and prototype AI-powered customer experience touchpoints, including agentic workflows, intelligent chatbots, and AI-assisted self-service interactions across the customer lifecycle • Identify opportunities to embed AI into key customer journey moments to reduce friction, improve discoverability, and increase customer self-sufficiency • Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, engineering and customer success teams to translate AI capabilities into intuitive, customer-centered experience concepts • Map and analyze the full customer journey across Actian’s digital ecosystem including web, community, support, onboarding, and self-service channels to identify gaps and prioritize high-impact improvements • Design connected, cohesive digital experiences that help customers more easily find what they need and derive value faster • Champion a consistent experience layer across Actian’s diverse product portfolio, ensuring customers have a unified sense of engagement regardless of which product they interact with • Design self-service and digital-first customer experiences that support Actian’s product-led growth motion, including trial activation, onboarding flows, and in-journey guidance • Partner with the CX strategy team to shape experience concepts for new product launches and emerging go-to-market approaches • Identify where customers get stuck or drop off in self-service flows and design interventions that improve conversion and retention • Develop high-quality CX design artifacts including journey maps, service blueprints, experience briefs, wireframes, conceptual prototypes, and storyboards that translate strategy into actionable direction for cross-functional teams • Plan and facilitate design thinking workshops with stakeholders from Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, and IT to surface insights and co-create experience solutions • Translate customer research, behavioral data, and competitive benchmarks into prioritized, actionable experience improvements • Define clear success metrics for each CX initiative and track improvements against key experience indicators such as self-service resolution rates, time-to-value, customer satisfaction, and digital engagement • Build a track record of demonstrated CX impact connecting design decisions to measurable business and customer outcomes • Present findings, designs, and results clearly to senior leadership, making the business case for CX investments
• Oversee the entire ticket lifecycle from initial triage to verified production deployment. • Ensure all incoming escalations are immediately assigned to an owner with zero gaps in response times. • Enforce a structured assessment of every issue to verify reproducibility, severity, workarounds, and whether it is a true defect or a feature gap. • Organize and optimize the rolling, staggered schedule for engineers rotating into the squad from feature teams. • Ensure rotating engineers maintain full ownership of their assigned tickets until resolved, even after their rotation cycle ends. • Guide the rotating team through deep-dive debugging of the Actian Data Intelligence Platform. • Lead the engineering response during critical, high-severity platform outages to drive rapid resolution. • Act as the primary link between Engineering, Support, Customer Success, and Product teams, joining customer calls when high-level technical input is needed. • Track and report on key operational metrics (Response Time, Qualification Time, Ready State) to eliminate bottlenecks. • Track fixes through the CI/CD pipeline to confirm they are successfully deployed live to production.
