Job Description
QA Engineer, Automation, Resilience
Actian
• Design, write, and maintain robust automated E2E test suites that mimic real-world enterprise workflows on the Actian Data Intelligence Platform. • Build automated tests specifically designed to test the platform's stability, load capacity, and recovery under stress or failure conditions. • Embed your automated test suites seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) to provide developers with rapid feedback on every code change. • Write deep integration and API automated tests to verify data accuracy across our distributed architecture. • Partner closely with the Sustaining Engineering team to analyze production bugs, quickly writing automated tests to reproduce and permanently block them from returning. • Actively track, isolate, and rewrite unreliable tests to maintain total confidence in our automation results. • Work side-by-side with backend developers and product owners early in the lifecycle to map out automated testing strategies before the code is even written. • Leverage modern AI assistants and coding tools to generate test data, accelerate script writing, and debug test failures efficiently. • Write clean, modular, and reusable test scripts, conducting peer reviews with fellow QA engineers to keep the test codebase healthy. • Monitor feature-level QA metrics like test execution times, code coverage, and pass rates to continuously optimize the testing pipeline.
Job Requirements
- Solid experience as an Automation QA Engineer or SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) working with complex cloud-native SaaS or distributed data platforms.
- Deep, hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks (such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium) and programming languages like Java, Python, or Go. Strong SQL and API testing skills are a must.
- You are passionate about breaking code and finding hidden flaws. You care deeply about how software behaves under pressure in a live production environment.
- You don't wait for code to be delivered to think about testing. You anticipate regressions, ask hard technical questions, and actively push for quality from day one.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and version control (GitHub).
- Exceptional English skills (written and spoken) to describe complex technical bugs clearly and collaborate easily with development teams.
Benefits
- The chance to be part of an innovative, fast-growing company making a significant impact in the data management space.
- Collaboration with a passionate and diverse team.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Flexible work arrangements (remote or hybrid).
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
