Title: Enrollment Specialist - (Spanish Speaking Required - Hybrid Remote) Location: Westbury, NY Job Type Full-time Description Job Purpose: The Enrollment Specialist is responsible for assessing and supporting volunteers and children in one-on-one mentoring relationships through the enrollment process for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. This role works closely with parents/guardians and community partners to facilitate positive mentorship relationships. The Enrollment Specialist will ensure a seamless and efficient enrollment process for all participants. Duties & Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Assess the eligibility of volunteers and mentees for participation in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. - Conduct volunteer enrollment processes, including: - Individual orientations, interviews, home visits, and other relevant steps. - Facilitate client enrollments by conducting parent/child interviews, providing child safety education, and completing enrollment procedures. - Identify families needing alternative or additional services and make appropriate referrals. - Maintain ongoing engagement with Ready to be Matched (RTBM) youth and families through regularly scheduled updates and activities. - Partner with schools to foster appropriate youth referrals. - Review and follow up on references to gather additional information for assessments. - Conduct volunteer and client reassessments as needed. - Identify and remove any barriers that may interfere with the enrollment process. - Analyze all enrollment information to recommend participants for the program and match volunteers with children based on qualifications and interests. - Consult with other staff members as needed for matching decisions. - Provide thorough assessments and match recommendations for participants based on individual evaluations. - Maintain accurate, timely records for each match, leveraging technology for data reporting and analysis. - Facilitate in-person match meetings and manage schedules to accommodate volunteers and families. - Provide ongoing support for matches, focusing on child safety, relationship development, positive youth outcomes, and volunteer satisfaction. - Utilize active listening and questioning techniques to coach match participants and ensure clear communication. - Apply child safety and risk management protocols across all aspects of the role. - Identify and address potential challenges within matches and intervene to support successful resolutions. - Develop strategic interventions for matches requiring extra support to foster positive relationships. - Conduct and track match surveys to assess the impact of the program and meet goals for completion rates. - Conduct exit interviews for match closures, assessing reasons and potential for re-matching. - Support the agency's philanthropic efforts by fostering potential donor relationships and business partnerships. - Represent the organization positively within the community and collaborate with internal teams on additional projects as needed. - Attend training sessions and meetings as directed by the supervisor. - Additional duties as assigned. The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position.
