Quality Assurance Analyst: Co-op Opportunity

Location: Nanaimo BC - Remote possible for those eligible to work in Canada.
Overview
We are seeking a QA Analyst Co-op student who is motivated to build a long-term career in Quality Assurance.
This role is best suited for someone who is specifically interested in QA as their primary career path and is looking to develop strong, practical experience in software testing and product quality.
This opportunity is designed for candidates who have a strong interest in Quality Assurance and are looking to build depth and long-term growth within this field.
You will join a collaborative product team working on web-based applications, reporting to the Head of Product and working closely with a Senior QA Analyst for onboarding and mentorship.

What You’ll Do
- Develop a strong understanding of our product, users, and workflows
- Execute functional, regression, and exploratory testing across web applications
- Contribute to test coverage by designing and maintaining effective test cases
- Document testing activities including: scope of testing, results, and supporting evidence
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product stakeholders to identify and resolve issues
- Assist in troubleshooting UI/UX, browser, and performance-related issues
- Participate in agile ceremonies and support release validation
What We’re Looking For
- A co-op student who is intentionally pursuing a career in Quality Assurance
- Demonstrated interest in QA beyond academic requirements (e.g., personal learning, projects, or prior exposure)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to identify edge cases and think through user scenarios
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks
Nice to Have
- Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Exposure to QA concepts such as test cases, bug tracking, or regression testing
- Interest in test automation (self-driven learning is encouraged)

- Consistent, high-quality documentation of testing within JIRA
- Strong understanding of product functionality and user workflows
- Ability to independently execute testing and clearly communicate findings
- Reliable contribution to product quality and release readiness

Compensation
- Base Salary: $50,000 annually (equivalent)
