Vice President, Network Development
Curative
• Lead the network development for a state or group of states. Assure that Curative develops and maintains a network that is very competitive with the larger health plans. • Hire, train and direct a group of negotiators contracting with providers across the state(s) and maintaining key provider relationships. • Lead and complete negotiations with the largest health systems in the geography that result in very competitive contracts with those health systems • Maintain network regulatory compliance in state(s) • Manage the most critical provider relationships in the geography to make and keep • Curative competitive with the larger health plans in terms of unit costs • Work collaboratively with all internal departments to assure that the state's network strategy and priorities are fully aligned with Curative’s growth and profitability objectives. • Understand all clinical specialties to ensure contract terms and conditions address the coding structures which are most impacted by negotiations • Identify and manage initiatives that improve total medical cost and quality; including renegotiation of existing agreements • Prepare, analyze, review, and project financial impact of high spend or increasingly complex provider contracts and alternate contract terms
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field, including 15+ years of work experience beyond degree within provider contracting and/or health insurance
- Superior problem solving, decision-making, negotiating skills, contract language and financial acumen
- Experience with complex Hospital / Health Systems, Large Physician Groups and
- Ancillary provider contracting and negotiations
- Experience in developing and managing key provider relationships including senior executives
- The ability to influence both sales and provider audiences through strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with formal presentations
- Customer centric and interpersonal skills are required
- Remote with occasional travel (5-10%)
- Existing relationships with Major Health Systems and Large Physician Groups in major state(s)

Role Description The Vice President, State Government Affairs will be part of the UHG External Affairs organization, responsible for working with colleagues across External Affairs and the Company to develop and implement strategies on the company’s declared state government advocacy, growth, relationship and reputational priorities and overall business advancement initiatives with key state policymakers. The individual will be the primary liaison for Minnesota between the Company and state and local leaders, including Administration, legislators, and their staffs, as well as agency officials and external stakeholders. • Responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of the assigned Surety portfolio within the East Region for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. • Developing and underwriting a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement in the Surety marketplace with existing and new broker relationships in the local market. • Documenting all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner. • Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in a manner consistent with underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements established by Allianz Trade. • Collaborating with colleagues across the Americas and internationally in order to fully leverage surety capabilities and existing customer base. • Attending industry groups and local surety events, as requested by the Regional Manager
