Credit Risk & Analytics Engagement Manager

EXL

• Work directly with clients to shape credit decisions and portfolio performance • Drive portfolio performance, risk appetite, and policy direction • Balance competitiveness and profitability across segments through pricing strategy and optimization • Align credit strategy with Finance, Product, Sales, and Underwriting through cross-functional leadership • Ensure analytics and data teams deliver business impact through performance oversight • Own IRR, cohort performance, roll rates, and funnel conversion metrics • Define and evolve credit policy, underwriting strategy, and pricing frameworks • Partner across Finance, Product, Sales, and Operations for execution of credit strategy

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in credit risk with direct ownership of portfolio performance
  • 3+ years in a director-level or higher leadership role managing teams
  • Strong experience in small business lending, alternative finance, Merchant Cash Advances or non-prime environments preferred
  • Proven track record of making credit and pricing decisions with measurable business impact
  • Experience operating at an executive level with strong cross-functional influence
  • Deep expertise in portfolio management, pricing strategy, and unit economics
  • Strong understanding of underwriting processes, credit policy design, and segmentation strategies
  • Ability to interpret and challenge analytics outputs without direct model development ownership
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of SQL and BI tools for data interpretation
  • Familiarity with credit decisioning systems, data vendors, and fraud tools
  • Experience leveraging data to inform strategy, stress testing, and scenario planning.
