• Own the system design – you decide how data is modeled, where state lives, how components communicate, and how the system behaves under load • Design and own our data layer from the ground up – tables and relationships, indexing strategy, and query/load optimizations that hold up as data and traffic grow • Design queues, background jobs, and long-running workflows that remain correct and reliable under heavy load and partial failure • Make the difficult, hard-to-reverse design decisions early – and explicitly reason about the trade-offs behind them • Develop and maintain our web application • Contribute to architecture decisions, the direction of our stack, and the overall product vision • Build robust pipelines for document and email processing and third-party integrations that handle volume spikes gracefully • Build and optimize agents for our growing template library • Extend our RAG/knowledge-base system (embeddings, semantic search, re-ranking) • Operate in an AI-first development environment powered by Claude/Cursor • Manage version control and team collaboration via GitHub

• Designing, implementing, and continuously improving enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. • Building and maintaining integrations between Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, HR systems, enterprise applications, and identity platforms. • Developing automation using PowerShell and related technologies to improve reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency. • Troubleshooting complex authentication, authorization, provisioning, and identity lifecycle issues using a structured root-cause-driven approach. • Partnering with Information Security to implement identity governance, least privilege, and privileged access best practices. • Collaborating with business stakeholders to translate identity-related business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions. • Leading or contributing to identity-related migrations, acquisitions, and modernization initiatives. • Serving as a technical escalation point for complex identity issues and driving long-term solutions through root cause analysis. • Documenting solutions, mentoring peers, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement through engineering and automation.

• Build and ship features across the platform - inventory and SKU workspaces, purchasing and planning workflows, dashboards and data-heavy tables, and beyond - in Next.js and React with TypeScript. • Work in the NetSuite sync layer - writing and maintaining the SuiteQL queries and sync pipelines that bring inventory, sales, and stock data into PostgreSQL, so what's in the ERP reliably reaches the platform in the right shape. • Model and evolve the database schema in Drizzle - writing and reviewing migrations, and keeping queries correct and performant as the data grows. • Debug the ERP-to-platform path end to end when it misbehaves - a missing field, stale or duplicated data, a slow query or sync - implementing the fix rather than routing around it. • Keep heavy pages and queries fast - instrumenting hot paths, tuning queries and indexes, and being deliberate about how much data reaches the client. • Build background and queue work reliably (BullMQ / Redis) - idempotent jobs that don't duplicate work or leave data half-synced. • Keep the codebase healthy - a clean, reusable component architecture (Tailwind + shadcn/ui), permission-aware server actions, test coverage as you go, and a real part in code review. • Contribute to technical decisions and to the direction of the platform. • Other duties as assigned.

• Proactively develop and maintain tools that empower communities to identify, mitigate, and prevent various forms of abuse across Wikimedia projects. • Design privacy-conscious systems that detect behavioral patterns indicative of abuse while minimizing false positives and respecting user anonymity. • Continuously adapt abuse detection and mitigation strategies in response to changes in browser privacy standards, networking protocols, and platform architecture. • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and researchers to create holistic, human-centered solutions that balance safety and freedom. • Write resilient, maintainable systems and high-quality code with a focus on long-term sustainability. • Implement observability to maintain high levels of quality and system stability. • Instrument and measure the impact of anti-abuse across Wikimedia projects.
