Role Description We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our software development team in our Worcester office. This role offers flexibility and can be performed in-office or hybrid. Remote work location will be considered. In this role, you will play a part in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. This is a full time, exempt role. What You Will Do: - Design and develop highly reliable full-stack solutions using React.js and Spring Boot. - Build new applications, prototypes, and proof-of-concept solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, business analysts, and QA engineers. - Own the design, coding, unit testing, deployment, and monitoring of the software you build. - Work closely with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on solution delivery. - Translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing systems. - Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices. - Optimize application performance, security, and stability. - Participate in architecture and design reviews. - Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement. - Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and process improvements. - Build knowledge of P&C insurance concepts, business processes, and Hanover systems.
