Job Description

Industrial Design Intern – Mobility & Infrastructure

Glydways

• Form Development: Generate innovative concepts that prioritize passenger comfort, accessibility (ADA compliance), and safety in an autonomous environment • Digital Modeling: Build and iterate on complex surfaces using CATIA, NX, Solidworks, or Rhino to ensure designs are production-ready. Blender and Twinmotion are a plus. • Human Factors: Conduct ergonomic studies to optimize the boarding and riding experience for a diverse range of users • Prototyping: Assist in the creation of full-scale mockups and rapid prototypes in our South SF shop to test spatial layouts and material finishes • Visualization: Produce high-fidelity renders and animations in KeyShot, VRED, or Twinmotion for investor and city-planning presentations

Job Requirements

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a BFA/BS or MFA program in Industrial Design or Transportation Design.
  • Software Savvy: Proficiency in 3D modeling (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks or Rhino accepted) and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Maker Mindset: Experience with physical model making, 3D printing, and an understanding of manufacturing processes (composites, injection molding, etc.).
  • Mission-Driven: A genuine interest in sustainability, urban planning, and the future of public transportation
