Job Description
Manager, Store Planning and Design
RADAR
• Lead and develop the Store Planning & Design team; own workload prioritization, quality reviews, and delivery SLAs. • Own end-to-end store planning: intake → architectural review → 2D/3D modeling → install-ready site plans and packages. • Ensure accurate, repeatable sensor designs by translating CDs/RCPs/as-builts into executable plans (ceilings, obstructions, fixtures, compliance). • Drive planning R&D: improve accuracy, scalability, and automation through new methods, standards, and internal tooling. • Own third-party tooling and integrations (LIDAR/BIM/compliance platforms) and vendor relationships to improve design precision and local code alignment. • Build a structured field feedback loop with installers/integrators; convert install learnings into better plans that reduce rework, revisits, and cost. • Partner with Engineering/Product/Deployment Ops to integrate systems, strengthen workflows, and improve planning-to-install handoffs. • Define and track metrics (first-time-right, plan accuracy, turnaround time, deviation rate) and continuously improve performance.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in retail architecture, store planning, interior architecture, or related design fields.
- 3+ years of people management or team leadership experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, RCPs, sections, and elevations.
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and spatial planning for physical environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or equivalent tools.
- Experience working with LIDAR scans, point clouds, or as-built validation workflows.
- Experience leveraging GIS, spatial data, or geospatial tools to inform site planning, deployment strategy, or physical environment analysis. (i.e. ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes, tools, or systems—not just execute within them.
- Strong understanding of retail store environments, fixtures, ceilings, and construction constraints.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to translate technical detail into actionable guidance.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with cross-functional stakeholders.
