Job Description

Site Manager

Hitachi

• Manage on-site construction activities for Substation and FACTS projects to support safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery. • Coordinate civil construction, electrical equipment installation, erection, start-up, testing, and commissioning activities in accordance with project requirements. • Plan and organize site activities with Construction Managers and Project Managers, including resource coordination, equipment planning, and milestone tracking. • Monitor and manage subcontractor performance to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and delivery targets are achieved. • Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, suppliers, local authorities, and other project stakeholders. • Implement and maintain construction Health & Safety plans while promoting compliance with company safety and environmental requirements. • Coordinate equipment handling, storage, logistics, and material delivery to support efficient site operations. • Participate in project scheduling activities, provide technical guidance for installation work, and recommend process or procedure improvements that enhance project outcomes. • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • University Degree or Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; construction leadership or Lineman Journeyman Trade experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, substation installation, electrical work, or a combination of these disciplines within power systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil and electrical drawings, technical documents, and project-related documentation.
  • Ability to document work performed, track project progress, administer warranty items, and independently resolve complex problems.
  • Valid driver’s license and OSHA 30 Construction Industry certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work in high-pressure environments with multiple priorities, and apply sound judgment when planning and conducting work activities.
