Marketing & Communication Associate Internship

General Dynamics Information Technology

• Support the execution of strategic campaigns that are aligned to business priorities. • Assist in website updates utilizing our content management system including adding and updating content/landing pages, videos and images on the GDIT website. • Author content to support digital marketing to include landing pages, social media posts, and email campaigns. • Draft content pieces in support of marketing infrastructure efforts (e.g., collateral, web content, social copy, etc.) • Report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns by assessing key performance indicators (KPIs) • Collaborate with media and technology partners in support of shared marketing strategies and tactics. • Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends, innovation, and new technologies to advance programs. • Develop content for intranet and other internal communications.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree program in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or other related major, or other related field from a United States-based college or university.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Teams)

Core Responsibilities - Event Strategy Planning and Execution: - Lead the development and execution of Medallion’s conference and field event strategy. - Partner with the Head of Demand Generation to identify, evaluate, and contract with high-impact event partners. - Conduct structured research and evaluation of prospective events. - Identify and execute supporting opportunities beyond booth presence. - Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales, Product Marketing, and executive stakeholders regarding conference strategy. - Pre- and Post-Event Management: - Own the full event lifecycle, ensuring intentional promotion and measurable pipeline impact. - Develop and execute comprehensive pre-event activation strategies. - Partner with Sales leadership to secure high-value meetings in advance of events. - Coordinate closely with Marketing Operations for accurate tracking of registrations and engagement metrics. - Create clear internal visibility into event objectives and onsite goals. - Oversee onsite execution to ensure premium brand representation and seamless logistics. - Develop structured post-event follow-up campaigns. - Establish a regular cadence of reporting and analytics on field marketing performance. - Continuously refine the event-to-pipeline motion by analyzing performance data. Qualifications - 4+ years of B2B field marketing or event marketing experience (SaaS experience strongly preferred; healthcare or health tech is a major plus). - Experience owning an event budget and tying event performance directly to pipeline. - Familiarity with a range of event types; conferences, expos, executive dinners, happy hours, and other networking events. - Excitement about the full lifecycle of an event, including follow-up and securing auxiliary activations. - Understanding of how to partner deeply with Sales. - Detail-oriented with effective communication skills across cross-functional teams.
