Job Description

Agentic AI Engineer

Elastic

Role Description The Elastic IT team is moving beyond simple chat to the next frontier: Agentic Workflows. We are looking for an innovative Agentic AI Engineer to join our team to build autonomous, enterprise-grounded agents that don't just answer questions—they complete complex business tasks to accelerate productivity across the entire organization. Our ideal candidate is a talented agentic AI developer who has the passion to dive in, learn, and become a verified Elastic Stack expert. In this role, you will leverage the full power of the Elastic Stack (including but not limited to ESRE, Agent Builder and Workflows) to provide the "brain" and "memory" for our agentic ecosystem. Driven by a service-oriented mindset, you will also act as a trusted enabler, helping our internal business partners get started with the stack so they can solve their own unique data problems. By building directly on our own platform, you will empower our global workforce with cutting-edge tools while showcasing the boundary-pushing capabilities of Elastic's products. Are you ready to build the agents that supercharge enterprise productivity and prove what’s possible with Elastic? Join us to enable agentic workflows that turn collective knowledge into instant action, empowering everyone at Elastic to achieve more. Qualifications - Proven success in delivering independent GenAI projects, specifically those involving autonomous task completion or complex workflow automation. - A strong desire to learn and become an expert in Elasticsearch Relevance Engine (ESRE), advanced RAG patterns, and the broader Elastic ecosystem. - Familiarity with LangGraph, LangChain, and LangSmith for building and debugging multi-agent systems. - Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and infrastructure automation, leveraging Terraform as well as containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong knowledge of secure cloud architectures, private networking, firewalls, VPC peering, and secure identity management (OAuth, SAML, IAM). - Experience setting up observability frameworks (logging, distributed tracing, and metrics) to monitor complex, non-deterministic multi-agent workflows and application health. - Familiarity with leading agentic AI and workflow automation platforms (such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Salesforce Agentforce, ServiceNow AI Agents). - Proven ability to apply emerging market trends—such as Multi-Agent Orchestration and Model Context Protocol (MCP)—to build high-impact, cost-optimized solutions that scale across the enterprise. - Experience with Python or TypeScript for backend logic and agent orchestration. - Hands-on experience with LLM providers. - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field. - Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical agent architectures. - Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - A commitment to Ethical AI and responsible development practices. Requirements - Design and implement sophisticated agentic workflows that use reasoning and tools to execute end-to-end business processes. - Utilize Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and the Elasticsearch Relevance Engine (ESRE) to ensure agents are deeply grounded in enterprise knowledge for high-accuracy task completion. - Develop and fine-tune LLMs and integrate them with internal APIs and third-party SaaS tools to enable autonomous action. - Provision and manage robust cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Terraform to support the high-concurrency demands of enterprise agents. - Establish modern DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines) to oversee the automated deployment, testing, and performance optimization of agents, keeping our agentic pipelines reliable and secure. - Apply strict security and network fundamentals (e.g., VPC configurations, secure API gateways, encryption, and IAM controls) to protect sensitive data and ensure strict compliance. - Implement comprehensive observability and tracing systems to monitor agent behavior, track execution latency, manage token spend, and proactively detect model drift or failure. - Act as a subject matter expert on the Elastic Stack, making technical recommendations that push the boundaries of AI-driven productivity. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of AI workflows, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes. Benefits - Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary. - Health coverage for you and your family in many locations. - Ability to craft your calendar with flexible locations and schedules for many roles. - Generous number of vacation days each year. - We match up to $2000 (or local currency equivalent) for financial donations and service. - Up to 40 hours each year to use toward volunteer projects you love. - Minimum of 16 weeks of parental leave.

Full TimeRemoteTeam 1,001-5,000

Role Description Make your impact within a growing Fintech Company. Customer Experience Operations at BILL handles 60K+ customer contacts per month across chat, phone, and email. We support SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customers with a mix of internal and BPO teams across four countries. We're standing up a new team inside CXO focused on building agentic AI systems that automate manual work, catch things before they fall through cracks, and give leaders visibility into their operations. The work isn't new. We've been building AI tools and delivering value ad hoc, but now it's our mandate. This is a founding team. You'd be shaping the architecture, the workflows, and the culture from the ground up. There's existing work to build on, but no inherited playbook to follow. You'll work directly with CARE leaders, QA, Advocacy, and WFM to identify what to automate and validate that it's working. In this role, you will: - Automate repetitive operational workflows: CES reporting, QA transcript analysis, knowledge article maintenance, SOP-driven case workflows. Deploy standardized automations across Slack and Salesforce at scale. - Flag stalled handoffs, aged cases, SLA breach risks, and duplicate cases before they become problems. Review DevRev/Cresta transcripts to ensure bots are behaving as expected. - Give leaders self-serve access to data and insights. Deliver automated weekly/monthly business intelligence on cadence (site health, volume, SLA, CES). Detect escalation patterns and repeat contacts that nobody is connecting the dots on. - Build memory architecture: bots that look at staffing, feedback, transcripts, and agent work together at scale. Know what happened last week and what's coming next. You will also: - Connect and deploy orchestration layers (MCP, custom connectors) to automate CX business workflows and productize internal tools. - Measure operational reliability and system accuracy to ensure business metrics are being achieved: contacts deflected, cost avoided, hours saved. Design escalation patterns so the system knows when to surface to a human. - Partner with the data team on structured data layers that keep AI outputs trustworthy. Productize what works so it scales across the org. Qualifications - Experience with Salesforce integrations or CX/support tooling (DevRev, Cresta, knowledge management systems). - Data modeling or analytics background (dbt, Redshift, Trino). - Experience building tools for non-technical end users. Requirements - Visa Sponsorship: Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. Benefits - 100% paid employee health, dental, and vision plans (choose HMO, PPO, or HDHP). - HSA & FSA accounts. - Life Insurance, Long & Short-term disability coverage. - Employee Assistance Program (EAP). - 11+ Observed holidays and wellness days and flexible time off. - Employee Stock Purchase Program with employee discounts. - Wellness & Fitness initiatives. - Employee recognition and referral programs. - And much more.
