Lead Field Service Dynamic Positioning Engineer
General Electric - GE
• Perform installation and commissioning on automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction • Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions • Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, as well as execute customer training • Execute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction • Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades • Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service • Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements • Perform work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- OR Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5 additional years of related industry experience
- OR School diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience
- Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice
- Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore
- Previous Marine Industry Experience
- Must be able to pass a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and offshore survival course which includes activities in a swimming pool
- US Person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects
- Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications
