Role Description We are looking for an Experienced Network Engineer to join our international IP Core team and support the qualification, validation, and lifecycle management of carrier-grade IP/MPLS network services and infrastructure. In this role, you will contribute to the testing and validation of VPN services, IP Backbone components, and Route Reflector functionality while ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of our network solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineering, development, and operations teams in an international environment and support the continuous improvement of our network services and testing processes. - Perform qualification and validation testing of network hardware and software. - Execute functional, integration, and regression testing for IP/MPLS-based services. - Validate VPN services running on LER/CPE platforms. - Test and qualify IP Backbone components and Route Reflector functionality. - Analyze test results, identify defects, and support issue resolution through structured troubleshooting. - Capture and analyze network traffic using Wireshark. - Update and maintain network configuration documentation (TIKs), technical documentation, and test documentation. - Read and interpret RFCs and vendor documentation. - Collaborate closely with network engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure high-quality service delivery. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, automation initiatives, and quality standards. Qualifications - Experience in network engineering, network testing, or network operations. - Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking. - Solid knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6. - Good understanding of routing protocols, especially BGP and IS-IS. - Good knowledge of Ethernet, VLANs, and MPLS technologies. - Good understanding of DNS and DHCP. - Basic Linux administration skills. - Basic knowledge of network security concepts. - Understanding of redundancy and high availability concepts. - Strong analytical and logical troubleshooting skills. - Experience working with router and switch CLI. - Experience analyzing packet captures using Wireshark. - Ability to read and understand RFCs and vendor documentation. - Basic scripting skills (Python, Perl, or similar). - Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper environments. - Good documentation skills and a structured working style. - Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies. - Good command of written and spoken English. Requirements - Knowledge of L2VPN and L3VPN technologies. - Experience with LAC/LNS (L2TP), RADIUS, and/or DIAMETER. - Experience with IP Backbone and service provider networks. - Knowledge of LER/CPE platforms. - Experience with Route Reflectors. - Experience with Segment Routing (SR-MPLS and/or SRv6). - Knowledge of EVPN/VXLAN. - Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, GitLab, or similar tools. - Understanding of automated production and deployment processes. - Experience with Cisco IOS-XR and/or Juniper JunOS. - German language skills.
