• Serve as a fire protection lead engineer in a national company • Communicate with fire protection engineering staff in multiple locations throughout the company • Coordinate staffing efforts and team assignments • Provide proposal/pricing assistance to Project Managers throughout the company • Listen to our clients’ needs and independently provide value to them by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost, and life cycle cost • Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors, and vendors in presentations and meetings, via email and phone as necessary • Work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail new systems that are needed, assuring that the work is accurate and coordinated and that the quality assurance measures have been followed • Participate in on-site observations, information gathering, and interactions with clients and contractors during the design and construction phases of the projects to represent Salas O’Brien in the field • Design fire protection systems including standard wet systems, dry systems, specialty (preaction and/or dry chemical) systems, etc. • Develop system concepts, load analysis, equipment selection, system layout, and specification writing.

• Responsible for the technical delivery both as a project lead and technical resource with minimal supervision while completing assignments that require independent judgement and evaluation. • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members. • Lead and maintain commissioning schedules including daily standup, 3-week look ahead and project specific resource loading. • Lead and organize the quality control and electrical testing teams on Mission Critical projects. • Manage the logistics for resource needs including staffing and test equipment specific to the project. • Facilitate issue resolution of testing failures.

• Design stormwater systems for single dwellings, duplexes, and multi-dwelling developments • Design drainage systems for Torrens Title and greenfield subdivisions (ESSENTIAL) • Prepare Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP) • Perform hydraulic modelling and runoff calculations (ARR 2019 compliant) • Design OSD systems in line with NSW council DCP requirements • Prepare DA / CC documentation and engineering drawings • Ensure compliance with NCC, AS/NZS 3500, ARR 2019, and NSW Council DCP requirements • Apply WSUD principles where required • Coordinate with planners, surveyors, architects, and certifiers • Provide construction-stage support and respond to RFIs • Ensure drainage layouts align with easements, overland flow paths, and inter-allotment drainage requirements
