Role Description SAIC is seeking a highly motivated F5 Network Cloud Computing Engineer with Palo Alto experience to join our Cloud One team Government A1 Enclave by Cloud One project. The Air Force A1 DTA Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, and data in support of DoW Services and Agencies. This position will be 100% remote. - Monitor and work trouble tickets daily where applicable. - Provide all network administration/security/stability/troubleshooting to include design/implementation/maintaining of: - Big-IP F5 Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) - Big-IP F5 Virtual interface - Internal and public facing network IPs - AWS network design - AWS routing tables - AWS Security groups - AWS network Access control list - AWS various gateways - Implication of A1VDC and Application owned PPSMs. - Primary focal point between DISA SCCA (Secure Cloud Compute Architecture) and A1VDC for all network related issues. - Provide comprehensive network administration, security, stability, and troubleshooting. - Design and implement network architectures including WAFs and network IPs. - Manage AWS networking components such as routing tables, security groups, access control lists, and gateways. - Serve as the primary liaison between DISA SCCA and A1VDC for network related issues. - Ensure that the cloud network responds to customer and project expectations. - Resolve any network issues. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years, Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD/JD with 9+ years of relevant experience. Requirements - Active Secret clearance - US Citizenship - Security+ or higher DoD IAT Level II (DoD 8140/8570) Required Skills/Knowledge - Networking Expertise: TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, SSL/TLS, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) - Cloud Deployment: AWS/Azure, including VPCs, routing tables, Direct Connect, security groups, and EC2 instances. - Security: Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, security automation (Python, Ansible), and threat prevention. - Tools & Platforms: F5 BIG-IP (LTM, APM, ASM), Cisco ASAv firewalls, Nginx proxy, LAN/WAN networking, and multi-factor authentication (MFA). - Other Skills: Technical documentation, Windows AD, RHEL, VPN (CAC authentication), and advanced monitoring tools. Desired Qualifications - Certifications: PCNSE, CCNP (or higher) - Advanced Networking Design: High availability, SD-WAN, IPv6, Zero Trust security, and ISP management. - Automation: Python, Ansible, Terraform for configuration and policy enforcement. - Cisco Networking: Router/switch configuration, ACI framework, and L4-L7 integrations. - Network Monitoring: Proficiency with ITIL, SolarWinds, NetScout, AWS CloudWatch, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications: Education: - Associates degree (preferred) in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience. Licenses/Certification: - CCNA, Network + or other industry recognized certifications preferred. Current or previous certifications acceptable. - Azure and/or GCP certifications preferred. Experience: - Minimum of 4 years experience as a network engineer in a health care facility, or large-scale inter-network environment. Experience with Aruba and Cisco switches, Cisco routers and SDWan, Fortinet, and Meraki preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Established capabilities utilizing technical tools related to network engineering including: - Configuration of Cisco IOS, Aruba, Arista, Meraki, and Fortinet equipment. - Knowledge of topologies such as ethernet and wireless 802.11 and 802.16. - Network management and configuration utilizing platforms such as Logic Monitor, SolarWinds and Fortimanager. - Supporting routed networks including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and static routes. - Performing protocol analysis and problem determination - Effective oral and written communication skills required to participate in planning and troubleshooting discussions, and to interact daily with end users to understand and provide solutions to business problems. - Ability to deliver solutions that are clearly defined, systematically executed, and results oriented. • Responsible for design planning, record creation and capacity fulfillment throughout the U.S and Canadian networks. • Works with Project Managers to effectively deliver service requirements to customers. • Designs DWDM network per Network Architectures standards and future growth of our network and customer base. • Implement DWDM wave circuit designs for the core of the network as needed. • Creates Engineering Design Packages that are discernible by Operations personnel. • Provides timely updates to project managers and leadership for service deliverables and due dates. • Reviews capacity request for correctness and clarifies any design related items back to the responsible departments. • Maintains specific customer commitments and deadlines in the Zayo (Salesforce or future system used) database. • Provides support to field operations to resolve provisioning problems; reviews and verifies technical data in an effort to project issues. • Opens, forecasts, and maintains a budget based off of the service commitments. • Secures quotes from our optical vendors, orders equipment, moves equipment from inventory to the field, writes scopes of works for installation of equipment. • Exercises interpersonal skills in working with all internal customers.
