Role Description As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will be a senior, hands-on contributor on our mobile team, building and shaping our Flutter applications while staying fluent across the services that power them. The mobile experience supports field technicians, customer teams, and operational workflows where reliability, clarity, and offline/real-world constraints matter. You will spend the bulk of your time in Flutter and Dart, building the applications at the core of our product, while working as a comfortable full-stack engineer across the rest of the stack. - Build, test, and ship high-quality Flutter applications across iOS and Android. - Help shape mobile architecture and establish the patterns and standards the team builds on, while staying hands-on in the codebase. - Collaborate with backend engineers on shared REST and GraphQL APIs; weigh in on contracts and data-flow decisions, and go hands-on with lightweight contributions when the situation calls for it. - Partner with product and design to prototype ideas rapidly, then turn validated prototypes into durable, maintainable features. - Bring a product engineering mindset and an end-user focus to every feature, considering cross-platform impact from the start. - Use and direct AI-assisted development with Claude Code, skills, and MCP day to day; author skills and workflows that raise the team's velocity and quality. - Work effectively across multiple product areas, maintaining context and technical consistency as mobile priorities evolve. - Contribute to code reviews and to the technical growth and mentorship of the engineers around you. - Support customers and field technicians directly by troubleshooting code and resolving issues end to end, using tools like Sentry and Datadog to trace problems across the stack and drive root cause analysis on the hard ones. Qualifications - 5+ years of software development experience, with strong, demonstrated expertise in Flutter/Dart and comfort working full-stack across backend services and APIs. - Strong software architecture and design skills, paired with a clear willingness to stay hands-on in the code. - Demonstrated experience consuming and collaborating on REST and GraphQL APIs, and comfort discussing backend design, data models, and service contracts with backend engineers. - A product engineering mindset: able to prototype quickly with product and design, then deliver a sound, well-built feature. - Hands-on experience directing agentic coding tools and using agentic workflows as a force multiplier while maintaining ownership of technical decisions. - Strong debugging and performance-optimization skills, with hands-on experience using observability and monitoring tools such as Sentry, Datadog, or similar to diagnose and resolve production issues. - Strong context-switching skills and the ability to stay effective across several concurrent projects and teams. - Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and present to stakeholders. - A track record of mentoring engineers and improving the teams you are part of. Requirements - Experience authoring AI skills, building MCP integrations, or designing agentic development workflows. - AWS experience (AppSync, Lambda, Cognito) with direct backend collaboration. - Backend development experience, particularly with TypeScript services (Hono, Zod, OpenAPI) or comparable stacks. - Expert-level experience with the BLoC pattern and advanced state management. - Clean Architecture, Domain Driven Design, and similar enterprise-grade patterns. - Local-first and offline data experience (Drift, SQLite, or similar). - Native platform experience (iOS, Android) for platform channel and debugging work. - CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub Actions, Fastlane, or custom automation. - IoT and Bluetooth integration experience for industrial or manufacturing device connectivity. Benefits - Competitive compensation package including stock options. - Flexible work schedule with core hours in the Eastern time zone. - Comprehensive benefits including retirement plan match. - Unlimited PTO. - The opportunity to make a real impact every day in the manufacturing industry. - A close-knit team environment that balances work and life while crafting exceptional products.

We are building the future of residential real estateʼs critical listings infrastructure: a platform where market research and client collaboration converge. Our modern architecture enables continuous innovation at a pace legacy systems cannot match, with AI-powered features and mobile-first capabilities designed for how agents actually work. As consumer expectations and technology evolve, Perchwell remains focused on our core vision: empowering real estate professionals with the most intelligent, data-driven, and connected platform in the industry. This unique combination of institutional investment and deep industry alignment provides both the resources and market validation needed to transform the multi-trillion dollar residential real estate industry. What We're Looking ForWe are looking for an experienced Android engineer to take part in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle for our mobile applications. Mobile is a core part of our platform—real estate professionals rely on Perchwell while on the go—and our mobile experience is central to how agents search, collaborate, and close deals. As part of our small team of developers, you'll collaborate across the company to help shape our team, processes, and tech stack as we scale our business and technology. What You’ll Work On: - Build exceptional Android experiences: Design, build, and scale Perchwell’s Android app serving real estate professionals, delivering fast, stable, and intuitive mobile experiences that empower users to search, collaborate, and close deals from anywhere. - Own projects end-to-end: Lead major Android initiatives from technical design through launch, setting direction, driving execution, and ensuring quality every step of the way. - Accelerate product sales: Our mobile experience is a competitive differentiator for new clients and a delightful extension of the Perchwell platform. - Shape Android architecture: Make key decisions on the structure and setup of our codebase to ensure it is scalable, maintainable, and testable in order to accelerate feature development and customer satisfaction. - Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with backend, product, design, and QA to deliver seamless, high-quality user experiences. Required for this Role - 7+ years of professional Android development experience, with a strong command of Kotlin and the modern Android ecosystem (Jetpack, Compose, Coroutines, dependency injection, etc). - Proven track record owning and delivering complex, high-impact features from architecture to development and release. - Deep understanding of mobile reliability and scalability, with a track record of identifying and resolving systemic issues. - Experience influencing technical direction - defining standards, driving architectural decisions, and aligning cross-functional teams. - Strong customer empathy - the ability to translate complex user needs into technical solutions that address both immediate problems and long-term product health. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders. - Strong collaboration with backend and product partners, translating business needs into technical execution. - Love ownership, iteration, and making things better every release. This role is open to remote, but those located in the NYC area will work out of our New York City HQ in Soho Manhattan at least 3 days/week (including Mondays, which are mandatory in-office days). Preferred Qualifications - Modular Android architecture - Experience designing and implementing feature modules, shared library modules, and dependency management strategies to support clean separation of concerns and fast build times. - Multi-app development - Experience with structuring the codebase to streamline developing and releasing multiple mobile applications in a single codebase. - Performance optimization - Experience with investigating, diagnosing, and fixing performance issues with Android apps. - Familiarity with backend systems and APIs, particularly in the context of designing robust and functional client-server contracts for mobile applications. - Continuous integration - Familiar with common tools and techniques for structuring and organizing mobile builds and automated testing tracks to improve quality and reduce developer cycle time. Why Join PerchwellYour work will directly power how thousands of real estate professionals run their businesses, not just a small feature in a massive codebase.
