Qualifications - Deep, hands-on TSQL: complex queries, stored procedures, and functions (not ORM-generated SQL). - Proven data migration / ETL experience, especially against legacy or poorly documented source schemas. - Ability to reverse-engineer and document undocumented legacy databases. - Query performance tuning through execution plan analysis and indexing strategy. - Design of incremental, idempotent, re-runnable migration processes. - Transaction handling and concurrency control (locking, isolation levels). - Data validation and consistency: reconciliation scripts (source vs. target counts, checksums) and a sharp analyst eye for numbers that don't add up. - Performance testing under real production volume. - Special data types in SQL Server: temporal tables and JSON. - Familiarity with jobs/schedulers (SQL Server Agent) or other orchestrators to automate migrations. - Experience designing incremental pipelines at scale. - Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, to support documentation, issue reporting, and cross-team collaboration. - Advanced English level. Role Description As a Senior Data Engineer at SpyCloud, you will lead the architectural transformation of our data systems, working closely with Product Management, SpyCloud Labs, and Engineering teams.
