Assistant Survey Field Technician
GAI Consultants, Inc.
• Learn survey terminology and references • Equipment calibration techniques • Conduct measurements required for technical survey work • Set up tripods and other basic equipment • Apply theory and principles of surveying to modify, test, and operate survey equipment • Work both in office environments and in the field • Handle basic issues and problems referring complex issues to higher-level staff • Produce tabulated data, prepare field notes, and sketches • Possess strong organizational skills • Follow all safety policies and requirements and wear proper PPE • Travel will be up to 75% - up to 3 weeks out of the month

- Ability to set up tri-pods
- Basic equipment usage
- Usage and care of delicate and expensive equipment
- Learn the basics of equipment calibration
- Must have a steady hand for proper measurements
- Must be able to occasionally work at heights in certain environmental conditions
- Must wade through water; ride in a boat; swimming skills preferred
- Ability to safely use hand tools
