Software Development Engineer, Features Engineering Lead

Vantor

• Own and maintain the technical roadmap for feature data products • Establish engineering priorities with stakeholders • Provide architectural direction for geospatial and vector data-processing systems • Remain hands-on in software development and prototyping • Evaluate and adopt modern open-source technologies • Balance delivery priorities with team members • Monitor and maintain AWS-based system health and performance • Collaborate across teams to deliver integrated capabilities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Geography, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • Experience serving as a lead engineer or technical owner for a software platform
  • Strong understanding of Docker containerization technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of GDAL/OGR, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and spatial data-processing concepts
  • Proven ability to mentor other engineers without direct management responsibility
  • Familiarity with Agile software engineering practices
