QA Engineer
PlanHub
• Execute end-to-end manual and automated testing across web and mobile platforms, ensuring consistent product quality and reliability throughout releases. • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA peers to validate requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and maintain clear communication throughout the sprint cycle. • Investigate, document, and report defects with precision and partner with engineering teams to reproduce issues, verify fixes, and prevent regressions. • Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases, test plans, and regression suites in tools like Zephyr Scale. • Contribute to improving PlanHub’s SDLC and release processes by embedding quality checks earlier in the development cycle and driving QA best practices. • Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and provide actionable insights to enhance product stability and user experience. • Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, backend testing, and API level verification. • Identify and advocate for test automation opportunities, helping to expand and maintain automated regression coverage using frameworks like Playwright. • Track, measure, and communicate QA metrics and quality KPIs (e.g., defect trends, regression coverage, test execution velocity) to ensure continuous improvement across releases.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- 3 years of experience in any occupation with Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within a SaaS or web-based platform environment.
- 2 years of experience writing SQL queries and validating data integrity in MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience in manual and exploratory testing including identifying, documenting, and isolating complex issues across frontend, backend, and API layers.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development lifecycles including tools such as Jira and Zephyr Scale for test management and defect tracking.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman with a focus on verifying integration and data accuracy.
- Experience collaborating effectively with product managers, developers, and QA peers to ensure high-quality releases.
- Experience troubleshooting root causes and communicating findings clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple testing initiatives and adapting quickly in a fast-paced release cycle.
- Experience in continuous improvement, identifying process gaps, and contributing to QA best practices at both the individual and team level.
- Master’s degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in any occupation with Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within a SaaS or web-based platform environment accepted in place of a Bachelor’s degree.
