Job Description

Forward Deployed Engineer

Dataminr

• Partner directly with defense and security customers to understand their highest-priority situational awareness and force protection problems, then scope solutions against them. • Design, build, and deploy solutions on Palantir Foundry that operationalize First Alert — including data pipelines, ontology models, and operator-facing applications. • Integrate Dataminr's real-time intelligence into customer workflows, common operating pictures, and existing command-and-control tooling. • Build and fine-tune custom widgets where needed to enable customers to best operationalize real-time intelligence. • Own solutions end to end, working with minimal supervision and making sound technical decisions independently. • Debug across the full stack — infrastructure, networking, and application layers — often in restricted, disconnected, or on-premise environments. • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer engineers and operators, and channel their feedback back into the Dataminr product. • Travel to customer sites and operations centers across Europe as needed (approximately 25–75% of the time).

Job Requirements

  • A strong engineering background, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Palantir Foundry expertise: hands-on experience building on Palantir Foundry — data pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories / Workbooks, and application development.
  • Programming: proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, Bash, or Go.
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering or forward-deployed / solutions engineering experience delivering production systems.
  • Familiarity with containers (Docker / Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes / OpenShift), plus solid Linux, networking, and on-premise infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and to thrive in a fast-changing environment with iterative, mission-driven objectives.
  • NATO Secret clearance: an active NATO Secret security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.

Benefits

  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Generous PTO and sick leave
  • Professional development opportunities

Role Description As a Senior Integration Engineer for Tokenization, your mission at Marqeta will be to serve as a trusted technical and payments advisor for Marqeta's customers, providing solutions throughout the customer tokenization life cycle — enabling cardholders to provision payment cards to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay across mobile and web surfaces. You will be on the front line communicating directly with customers (particularly our customer’s developers, product owners, and project managers) and you will partner with groups within Marqeta’s organization. We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely in the United States, only in one of our Premium or National locations. The Impact You’ll Have - Ensure key technical stakeholders at customers and prospects deeply understand our platform, what sets it apart, and how to get integrated and live quickly. - Own the technical implementation of customers onto our platform, including technical advisement, environment configuration, and troubleshooting. - Become an expert on Marqeta's tokenization APIs, developing and sharing best practices for deploying them. - Balance the big picture and the details — spotting downstream impacts or "gotchas" before they happen, while also handling precise, hands-on tasks with minimal oversight. - Troubleshoot collaboratively with customers during integration, guiding them through documentation and diagnosing root causes of errors. - Serve as a tokenization technical resource for delivery and onboarding teams, and as the "voice of the customer" in external engagements. - Partner with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to improve the processes driving customers' technical onboarding journeys. - Maintain deep, current expertise on Marqeta's product and features, surfacing implementation learnings and customer feedback to Product and Technology. - Communicate confidently and clearly, balancing best practices, regulatory constraints, and Marqeta's evolving platform capabilities. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience working with enterprise customers, responsible for technical discussions in a sales engineering, implementation, or technical account management capacity. - Proficient working with APIs (you don’t need to be a developer but you must be comfortable explaining API concepts to our customers). - Experience with Bruno or Postman. SQL and Datadog are a plus. - Ability to understand complex enterprise requirements and communicate technical concepts clearly (verbally & in writing), tailoring recommendations based on customer needs and evolving offerings. - Ability to identify customer onboarding issues and work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions. - Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive schedules. - Experience in the B2B technology space with a knack for understanding what makes businesses tick and what drives their growth. - Strong understanding of payments specifically issuing (e.g. tokenization, networks, point-of-sale). - Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements - Your Manager: Jason Horner - Director, Card Operations. Benefits - Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. - Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States: - National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States. - Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA. - Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City. - The new-hire base salary range for this position is: - National: $112,700 - $140,900. - Premium: $122,000 - $152,500. - Annual bonuses to eligible employees, rewarding both individual performance and the success of the entire company. - Multiple health insurance options. - Flexible time off – take what you need. - Retirement savings program with company contribution and after tax contributions. - Equity in a publicly-traded company and an Employee Stock Purchase Program. - Family-forming benefits, fertility support, and up to 20 weeks of Parental Leave. - Free therapy sessions, financial and professional coaching, and legal advice. - Monthly stipend to support our remote work model. - Annual “development dollars” to support our people growth and development. - Through Flex First, the freedom to live and work wherever you and your family thrive.
