Senior Engineer, Business Intelligence

Role Description The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer works assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. - Ability to manage big data and create solutions for reporting requirements provided by stakeholders. - Problem solving and completing root cause analysis on production bugs. - Following standard SDLC process and agile practices within a team. - Develop internal and external partnerships to provide opportunities for efficient solutions to various data, system, and application uses. - Serves as a technical resource and mentor to other developers/engineers and aids in troubleshooting and resolving issues. - Actively review new bugs reported and complete grooming and sprint planning. - Complete bug root cause analysis and work with other teams as needed to resolve issues and complete documentation and notification to the bug reporter at least twice per week. - Subject matter expert (SME) of report data modeling and knowledgeable about what each field is used for. - Advanced knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, Visual Studio, etc. - Advanced programming and optimizing skills in DAX, DAX Studio, Performance Analyzer, Vertipaq, SQL, and M Languages. - Collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy through Power BI report development. - Responsible for data mining, manipulation, and delivery to key stakeholders and executives in accordance with priorities and deadlines. - Ability to form key relationships and deliver professional, customer-focused service to key stakeholders and executives. - Leads the evaluation of current and future data needs and translates needs to stakeholders and product owners. - Leads high-level discussions with a focus on making recommendations and identifying how data can support key business decisions. - Identifies report requirements and determines how the desired results can be achieved. - Responsible for developing and maintaining strategic reports out of multiple databases and systems. - Completing systems validation for client data which identifies discrepancies in data totals or PKs. - Works with team members as a mentor and provides opportunities for open collaboration to problem solve or optimize reports. - Practical application experience with DAX Studio and Performance Analyzer and can optimize reporting based on analysis findings. - Completing code review/peer review of completed work by co-developers and providing feedback identifying issues or required report updates. - Presenting and/or publishing completed reports in accordance with publishing guidelines. Qualifications - 3-5 years experience with relational databases and advanced T-SQL experience – must have the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queries for data cleansing across large volumes of data. - 3-5 years experience developing Power BI reports (with M, SQL, DAX language proficiency). - 5+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience required. - 1+ years of knowledge and/or experience with ETL and Azure data warehouse concepts and processes (Experience with Azure Databricks is a plus). - Building and maintaining APIs. - Advanced Vertipaq, DAX Studio, Tabular editor experience. - Advanced SQL concepts and validation review between data source and report output. - Power Apps integration. - Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem solving, analytical, judgment, and research skills. - Ability to own and resolve problems. - Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences. Requirements - This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require. - This position pays between $91,400 - $175,200 based on experience. Role Description Hayward is implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO) and is seeking a remote contract data modeling expert with deep expertise in financial and manufacturing domains to support the BI department in building new dimensional models and reports off the resulting data. This role requires availability during Eastern (EST) business hours. - Serve as the subject matter expert on the D365FO data model, advising the BI team on table structures, relationships, and data lineage as the implementation progresses. - Design new dimensional models (star schemas, fact/dimension tables) for financial and manufacturing reporting (e.g., GL, AP/AR, cost accounting, production, inventory, BOM/routing), applying deep domain knowledge to ensure models accurately represent business processes. - Work directly with business users to gather and evaluate requirements, build design specifications, and translate those specs into SQL queries and data models. - Write and optimize complex SQL queries — including CTEs and analytical/window functions — against D365FO-replicated data in Snowflake and Azure Synapse. - Design and build table-level entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) documenting D365FO source tables and relationships to support downstream modeling. - Test deliverables with business users, validating results to ensure data quality and accuracy before release, and build or guide development of Power BI reports from the new models. - Identify data gaps or mapping issues between D365FO source data and target models, and document data models, mappings, and business logic for long-term maintainability.
