  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, platform behavior, and audience engagement best practices across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging across audiences and channels

The Director of College Engagement (COLE) provides direction to the university relations team and partners with the Board of Directors Advisory Committee on College Engagement. The incumbent manages the planning, organizing, and directing of human resources activities in support of the mission of the organization. - Lead the University Relations activities of JerseySTEM, developing relationships with New Jersey-based universities. - Manage a team of 4-5 direct reports in charge of different teams: Business Development, Student Groups, Individual students. - Report to the board of directors or the Executive Board Member overseeing COLE. - Interact with peer department heads. - Coordinate with COME (Community Engagement) and DEVT (Corporate Partnerships Development) for the geographic focus for the given season. - Collaborate with HUCA to hire new/replacements. - Work with FINA for the budget of the department. - Coordinate with MKTG for the marketing needs of the department. - Continuously improve and streamline JerseySTEM’s approach to college engagement. - Represent COLE at the Monthly Leadership Team and participate in budgeting/planning and reporting activities.
