Job Description The role of the Theratechnologies Hybrid Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is pivotal, embodying a specialized, field-oriented expertise in the realm of HIV therapeutics, through support of ibalizumab, tesamorelin and crofelemer. Adhering rigorously to regulatory and corporate directives, the MSL will adeptly foster and nurture scientific partnerships within the relevant scientific communities. This critical role entails engaging with designated Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare practitioners (HCPs) at national, regional, and local levels. Reporting to the EVERSANA National Director-Head of Field Medical for Thera/FuturePak, the Hybrid Medical Science Liaison (hMSL) is a Medical Affairs professional that will serve as an external scientific representative of Theratechnologies engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals HCPs). The hMSL position is a hybrid role that will support Field Medical capabilities in both a virtual, and in some instances, face-to-face capacity. The hMSL will develop and maintain proactive relationships with designated KOLs and assigned institutions to provide compliant, proactive scientific education for in-line products, in person and virtually in full alignment with Medical Affairs strategies and tactics. The hMSL will provide reactive responses to unsolicited requests for medical information from medical professionals on an ad hoc basis and in compliance with corporate policies and procedures, and US healthcare laws and regulations. The hMSL will collaborate with peers to ensure timely fulfillment of these requests during all business hours. The hMSL will contribute to the development of Medical Advocates through compliant proactive, virtual disease state and safety and efficacy education. The hMSL will also represent Theratechnologies in person at medical and scientific conferences The hMSL will carry out proactive assignments as outlined by the National Director in which he/she will be responsible for establishing professional relationships with KOLs and conducting unbiased scientific interactions related to relevant disease states and scientific topics of interest, as well as company products. The successful candidate will exhibit outstanding professional communication skills along with a high degree of scientific and industry expertise. Senior hMSLs will have at least 4 years of MSL experience and will demonstrate a high degree of familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards related to scientific medical engagement and scientific engagement. hMSLs will be equipped with 0–2 years’ experience in pharma/biotech OR relevant clinical/practice/research background with strong communication skills and high learning agility who express professional presence with KOLs despite limited experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Contribute to the development and maintenance of long-term collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) using specific engagement topics with KOLs and HCPs, in alignment with Medical Affairs strategies and tactics. Provide proactive scientific engagement with clearly identified and documented KOLs in support of existing products and delivery of disease state education. - Respond to documented unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information on company products, including unsolicited requests for off-label medical information, as per corporate policies and procedures, and US healthcare laws and regulations. - Foster productive professional relationships and partnerships with KOLs and HCPs in the areas of medical education and research, in alignment with National Field Medical strategy. - Work with other team members to provide rapid responses to unsolicited requests for medical information during business hours in compliance with corporate policies and procedures and US healthcare laws and regulations. - Identify and communicate medical/scientific insights and trends that are relevant to Theratechnologies and its’ stakeholders (e.g., the competitive landscape, unmet needs of investigators, researchers, physicians). - Document field generated scientific insights within appropriate system(s), within 48 hours and communicated to appropriate internal stakeholders, as required. - Support medical leadership in execution of aligned field strategy. - Contribute to the development of medical affairs materials, such as slide decks, publications, internal communications, etc., as needed. - Represent Theratechnologies at medical and scientific conferences. Provide appropriate scientific insights and summaries to internal stakeholders. Support the development of scientific resources following congress/conference, as requested. - Provide virtual updates on key medical congresses and collect, analyze, and summarize the impact of relevant data and competitive information on behalf of the MSL team. - Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise through continuous learning and knowledge of scientific literature. The expected base pay range for this position is $165,000 - $231,000 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
