Healthcare Credentialing Specialist

Role Description - Manually verify physician licenses using official state medical board and government regulatory websites. - Access national license index databases and relevant authority databases to cross-reference physician information. - Confirm that each physician’s license is active, valid, unrestricted, and appropriate for the state in which they intend to practice. - Verify whether physicians are authorized to prescribe in the states they claim to serve. - Review physician information submitted during onboarding and identify discrepancies, restrictions, disciplinary actions, expirations, or missing details. - Document verification results accurately within the company’s digital prescribing platform. - Provide physicians and internal teams with verification feedback within one hour during designated business hours. - Escalate questionable, incomplete, or potentially invalid credentials to the appropriate compliance team. - Maintain accurate records and audit trails of all verification activities. - Protect physician and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and company confidentiality requirements. - Work independently and communicate effectively in an asynchronous remote environment. Qualifications - At least one year of experience in medical credentialing, provider enrollment, physician licensing, healthcare compliance, or a related healthcare administrative role. - Experience researching and verifying information through state medical boards, government websites, or regulatory databases. - Familiarity with physician license status, expiration dates, restrictions, disciplinary actions, and prescribing eligibility. - Strong understanding of HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and secure handling of sensitive information. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies across multiple sources. - Strong written English communication skills. - Ability to meet a one-hour turnaround time during working hours. - Reliable computer, stable internet connection, and ability to access U.S. government and state regulatory websites. - Comfortable using VPN or other approved secure-access tools when required. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity and accuracy. Requirements - Must speak and write English clearly and professionally. - Must have relevant work experience. - Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding (mandatory). - Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.
