Role Description The VMware Cloud Foundation Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, automation, and validation of VMware Cloud Foundation environments, with a strong emphasis on VCF Automation and lifecycle operations. This role is hands-on and delivery-oriented, supporting greenfield and brownfield deployments, customer integration, and operational enablement across management and workload domains. - Deploy and configure VMware Cloud Foundation management and workload domains, including a focus on VCF Operations. - Design and implement VCF automation workflows to enable repeatable and scalable deployments. - Lead technical sessions on innovative data center solutions to improve operational efficiency. - Organize dynamic sales and training sessions on cutting-edge data center technologies. - Build strong relationships with Pellera's enterprise solution partners to drive collaboration. - Attain sales and technical certifications to enhance expertise in data center solutions. - Stay updated on technical challenges and trends for strategic insights. - Support clients in their digital transformation with audit, architecture, consulting, implementation, and training. - Identify and validate cloud solution opportunities that integrate with existing systems. - Assess cloud solutions for functionality, service availability, and performance. - Evaluate hybrid platform solutions to find the best organizational fit. - Ensure technical feasibility for smooth integration, data exchange, and migration processes. - Participate in the development and integration of new and emerging technology solutions and partnerships; with a focus of growing Pellera Technologies. - Participate in customer-facing meetings to determine business and technical requirements that will be used in developing VMware VCF. Qualifications - VMware skills such as virtualization of servers, storage, and networks; operations management; orchestration and automation; virtual desktop infrastructure and cloud foundation. - Subject matter expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and core data center technologies, with a focus on Automation. - Expert-level proficiency in the design and operation of the complete VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack, including vSphere, Automation, vSAN, and NSX architectures, as well as working knowledge of other major virtualization platforms. - Ability to design and provide architecture on Software Defined Infrastructure. - General knowledge of Containers and Native Cloud Services. - Ethical and Critical Thinking. - Excellent sales and customer service skills, time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines, showing excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong supervisory and leadership skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. - Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. - Proficiency in infrastructure automation, scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell), and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). - Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions. - Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent consulting industry experience. - At least 10 years of experience in architecting and implementing data center solutions. - Expert-level proficiency in the design and operation of the complete VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack, including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX-T architectures, as well as working knowledge of other major virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM layers. - Subject matter expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation. - At least one of the following certifications: VMware Certified Professional, VCF, VCAP, VCDIX, VMware Knight. - Broadcom VMware Knight – highly desired. Physical Requirements - Candidates should be able to travel up to 25% of the time. - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
