Role Description You will join the Client Technology Tribe as part of the newly created Banking Operations team. The team’s mission is to empower our Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), and Fraud Operations functions by building the tools and workflows they rely on daily. Key responsibilities include: - Architecting and building regulatory monitoring capabilities connected to the Scalable banking platform. - Enabling effective alert handling and block management. - Developing case management solutions that support efficient investigation and resolution. In this role, you will build world-class capabilities on our operations platform as well as client-facing journeys around the team domain. You will help build and improve the technical foundations needed to operate these systems securely and reliably in a regulated environment. A big part of this role requires a strong product mindset: - Move fast to ship high-impact features while maintaining a rigorous platform standard required in a regulated banking environment. - Strike the right balance delivering immediate value while designing reusable capabilities, extensible workflows, and robust integration patterns that ensure long-term architectural quality. Your Responsibilities: - Build and improve high-quality web experiences that allow efficient banking operations for millions of clients across all Scalable product offerings. - Work across the stack on frontend applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, event-driven workflows, and cloud infrastructure. - Partner closely with the Operations department to prioritize new features and measure success of releases. - Contribute to observability, analytics, experimentation where relevant, and operational excellence across support-related systems. - Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code while treating security, privacy, and reliability as first-class concerns. - Take ownership from idea to production, helping the team ship pragmatic solutions without compromising engineering quality. - Contribute to continuous improvement in architecture, testing, monitoring, and developer experience. - Help shape technical direction, mentor teammates, and raise the engineering bar within the team. Qualifications - A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or comparable practical experience. - Strong backend experience building and operating production services, lambdas, databases and others. - Practical frontend experience with modern web application development. - Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js and NestJS, building polished, production-grade applications across frontend and backend systems. - Experience with Python, Java and/or Kotlin is a plus. - Good understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, authentication and authorisation patterns including JWT, and service-to-service integrations. - Experience working with distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, queues, or event-driven architectures is a strong plus. - Good working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and observability/debugging in production. - Experience delivering complex software with end-to-end ownership, ideally across internal tooling, platforms, or customer-facing products. - Strong analytical thinking in both technical and product contexts, with the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs. - Clear, open, and concise communication skills, with professional fluency in English. - Experience in regulated environments, support tooling, workflow automation, or operationally critical systems.
