Job Description

Curriculum Designer

SAP

• Write the course content • Review, adapt, and develop existing materials to design a fully self-paced curriculum for learners • Author lessons, explanations, worked examples, activities, and assessments to the agreed template, structure, and quality standards • Write to the relevant iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements, and mark schemes, ensuring content is accurate, complete, and exam-aligned • Design a mixture of assessment — some that suits self-paced learners, with auto-marked and self-checking questions giving learners instant feedback, alongside key pieces throughout the course that deliver teacher-based feedback • Structure and sequence content for independent, self-paced learners with low teacher contact — using chunking, scaffolding, retrieval practice, and purposeful digital interactions to keep learners moving, thinking, and motivated without a live teacher • Build courses within school systems to the agreed template and brand, using the available technology to create a polished, consistent learner journey • Build a suite of multi-modal resources to bring courses to life — video lessons, voiceovers, screencasts, interactive tools, knowledge checks, and other digital learning assets — alongside the written material • Work to a production schedule, hitting agreed milestones for each course on a delivery-linked contract • Submit drafts for editorial / QA review and sign-off, and revise efficiently on feedback.

Job Requirements

  • Current or recent teacher with a teaching qualification and strong subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Experience developing lesson materials for online delivery
  • Experience of asynchronous lesson design / course development
  • Understanding of how to design for independent, self-paced learners
  • Assessment design aligned to iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements, and mark schemes
  • Experience working with an LMS / VLE
  • Willing and able to record video lessons and voiceovers, comfortable on camera and mic
  • Awareness of accessibility and inclusion (SEND, WCAG, readability)
  • Self-motivated and self-managing — works to deadlines, comfortable working remotely and autonomously, and confident taking ownership of a course from initial specification through to finished build.

Benefits

  • Industry-leading professional development
  • Exceptional career opportunities
  • Mobility across the group of schools
  • State-of-the-art facilities
