Qualifications - 3+ years of software development experience. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. - Previous Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) experience preferred. - Git code management skills with experience working in a mono repository preferred. - Strong Python (Flask/SQLAlchemy) and TypeScript (React) experience. - Experience with PostgreSQL database knowledge, e.g. common table expressions, windowing functions, views, stored procedures, full-text or geospatial indexing techniques. - Proficiency targeting infrastructure as code with a security mindset (AWS, Terraform). - Participation throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). - A history of delivering complex web applications to the cloud. - Strong knowledge of unit testing across multiple paradigms. - Experience working with microservices/an API-based application paradigm. Requirements - Collaborate with senior developers to implement new features and improve existing functionality. - Write and test high-quality code based on design specifications and product requirements with minimal support from team and senior engineers on the team. - Participate in planning and design discussions with product managers and designers. - Write clean, maintainable code using technologies like Python, React, and AWS. - Conduct testing and debugging software to ensure high quality. - Become a subject matter expert on your team’s products. - Work in an Agile/Scrum environment. - Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance. • Define the long-term technical direction and roadmap for Pricing in alignment with Upstart’s business objectives. • Lead the design and development of a system that continuously optimizes the matching of supply and demand for Upstart’s borrower-lender marketplace. • Work closely with ML scientists to improve and develop new models that improve core business metrics. • Guide the architectural evolution of Pricing engineering systems with an emphasis on scaling innovation across multiple engineering teams. • Uncover and drive alignment across complex technical requirements, designs, trade-offs, influencing product direction • Proactively evaluate, prototype, and roll out new technologies/frameworks to help cultivate a culture of innovation • Lead from the front, while mentoring and developing technical leaders

• Write well-designed, efficient code across iOS, Android, and Web platforms, and perform code reviews. • Own delivery of software features from Product to Production. • Partner with Product, IT and Operations to define technical requirements, develop project roadmaps, and ensure timely, efficient delivery. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer-reported issues and technical challenges through creative problem-solving. • Lead projects and mentor engineers. • Promote, maintain, and enhance our cultural values of humility, passion, inclusion, and leadership.

• Design, build, and test the APIs and services that power RoadieXD • Develop internal and customer-facing tools, primarily in React, that enable our cross-dock operations to scale efficiently • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to solve complex logistics challenges and deliver high-impact features • Influence architecture and technical design decisions that improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of the Roadie platform • Write clean, maintainable code backed by automated testing, thoughtful code reviews, and modern engineering best practices • Continuously improve existing systems by identifying opportunities to enhance performance, developer experience, and long-term maintainability
