Role Description The Lead Doctoral Faculty Mentor (LDFM) supports doctoral students/candidates as they complete their Dissertation in Practice (DiP) for the EdD program. The LDFM assumes responsibility for providing the doctoral student with constructive feedback on performance related to DiP content and process in a scaffolded manner over the course of five semesters. - Mentors students over 5-6 semesters beginning in the second year of the student’s program. - Works with doctoral students/candidates in semesters 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of their program. - Responsible for submitting administrative forms and paperwork in a timely manner. - Guides the student through chapter design and development. - Works collaboratively with teaching faculty in each semester. - Attends live virtual training sessions semesterly. - Reviews mentoring and coaching modules on Marymount’s LMS, Canvas, asynchronously. - Participates in a community of scholars committed to continuous professional development. Qualifications - Have completed a 5-Chapter Dissertation. - Active researchers and practitioners in a specific field of study. - Dedicated to building upon and expanding mentorship practices. - Pursuing this opportunity to give back to the academic community. This course will explore how Latin American women’s participation in society has served as a catalyst for social and political change. Students will engage with the works of influential writers and activists such as Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Isabel Allende, Rigoberta Menchú, and others, to examine the perspectives, experiences, and values of women across Latin America.
