Role Description The Part-Time Instructor – Product Management Workshops plays a key role in delivering engaging and impactful learning experiences to adult learners enrolled in our Product Management programs developed in collaboration with UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies. - Facilitate live online workshops. - Create high-quality instructional content. - Mentor learners and connect Product Management concepts with real-world business applications. - Design presentations, develop practical case studies, and lead interactive activities. - Classes are delivered 100% online in a synchronous, instructor-led format. Key Responsibilities - Deliver instructor-led Product Management workshops for online learner cohorts. - Cover core Product Management topics including: - Product Sense and Customer Discovery - Product Strategy and Prioritization Frameworks - Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) - AI and Technology Fundamentals for Product Managers - Product Metrics and Analytics - Product Management Interview Preparation - Prepare and continuously update: - Workshop presentations - Learning materials - Practical exercises - Hands-on activities - Case studies - Templates and reference documents - Conduct interactive workshops, group discussions, Q&A sessions, and practical exercises. - Guide learners through real-world Product Management scenarios using practical examples from industry. - Mentor learners by providing individualized feedback on assignments, workshop activities, and product thinking. - Support learners in developing structured approaches to product discovery, prioritization, roadmap planning, and stakeholder communication. - Maintain high learner engagement and instructional quality throughout all sessions. - Stay updated with current Product Management practices, AI product trends, emerging technologies, and industry frameworks. - Collaborate with internal curriculum teams to continuously improve workshop content and learner outcomes. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. - 6+ years of Product Management experience, preferably within product-based technology companies. - Experience working at MAANG companies, leading global technology organizations, or top product startups is highly preferred. - Demonstrated expertise across the Product Management lifecycle. - Prior experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or facilitating workshops for professionals. - Strong understanding of: - Product Strategy - Product Discovery - Customer Research - Product Prioritization Frameworks (RICE, MoSCoW, Value vs Effort) - Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) - Product Metrics and Analytics - Stakeholder Management - AI-powered Product Development fundamentals - Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Requirements - Strong instructional and learner engagement abilities. - Ability to simplify complex Product Management concepts through practical examples and case studies. - Experience creating professional workshop presentations and learning content. - Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities. - Excellent communication and storytelling skills. - Experience conducting live virtual training using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms. - Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. - Ability to facilitate highly interactive, activity-driven learning experiences. Preferred Skills - Experience mentoring aspiring or early-career Product Managers. - Experience preparing candidates for Product Management interviews. - Familiarity with AI-enabled product development and emerging AI technologies. - Experience working with Product Analytics and experimentation frameworks. - Exposure to Agile, Scrum, and Lean Product Development. - Experience creating Product Management case studies and workshop materials. Student Support & Mentorship - Provide individualized learner support during live workshops and scheduled office hours. - Maintain regular communication regarding learner progress, workshop expectations, and skill development. - Respond promptly and professionally to learner and internal team communications. - Provide timely, constructive feedback on workshop activities, assignments, and case studies. - Support learners in applying Product Management frameworks to practical business scenarios. Performance Monitoring - Evaluate learner progress based on workshop participation, assignments, and practical exercises. - Maintain accurate records of learner engagement and performance. - Identify learners requiring additional support and collaborate with internal teams to improve learning outcomes. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for workshop quality and learner success. Collaboration & Professional Conduct - Adhere to institutional policies and instructional standards. - Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and professional learning environment. - Serve as a mentor and industry role model for aspiring Product Managers. - Collaborate with instructional staff and curriculum teams to enhance learner experience and workshop effectiveness. - Represent Simplilearn professionally when interacting with learners, staff, and external stakeholders. Work Schedule - Part-Time instructors typically work 8–12 hours per week, depending on workshop schedules. - Each Product Management workshop is approximately 3 hours in duration. - Sessions are delivered live in a fully online format. - Flexibility for evening and weekend availability is preferred based on learner cohort schedules. Compensation - The anticipated compensation for this position is $80 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and alignment with program requirements. - This position is classified as Part-Time, Non-Exempt, and employees will be compensated for all hours worked in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
