Lead Actuarial Analyst

• lead key pricing and analytics work within a cross-functional team • develop and monitor predictive models • evaluate rate adequacy across states and segments • lead rate indications and pricing studies to inform renewal strategy and multi-state price updates • assess retention, conversion, and price elasticity • conduct pre- and post-implementation impact analyses • recommend course corrections as needed • support data mapping, exploration and modeling projects • drive process improvements through data and automation • provide technical leadership through mentoring, governance, and clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders • present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of P&C pricing experience with demonstrated knowledge of ratemaking and rate adequacy techniques (indications, trend, on-leveling, and monitoring); personal lines experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical resources.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience using business intelligence/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) preferred.
- Strong programming and data skills; proficiency in SQL required; SAS, Python or R preferred;
- Experience with version control and reproducible workflows preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and deliver under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills; strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to think critically and strategically

Role Description We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Remote Associate Actuary to support actuarial modeling, risk assessment, pricing, and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will analyze complex data, develop actuarial models, and collaborate with finance, underwriting, and product teams to support strategic business decisions. This role is ideal for candidates who have passed several actuarial exams and are progressing toward professional actuarial credentials. - Perform actuarial analyses related to pricing, reserving, forecasting, and risk management. - Develop and maintain actuarial models to support business and financial decisions. - Analyze claims, policyholder, and financial data to identify trends and opportunities. - Assist in calculating insurance reserves, premium rates, and profitability analyses. - Prepare actuarial reports, presentations, and regulatory filings. - Collaborate with underwriting, finance, product development, and compliance teams. - Validate model assumptions and ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulations. - Support the completion of professional actuarial exams and ongoing actuarial research. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field. - 2–5 years of actuarial experience in insurance, consulting, or financial services. - Completion of 2–5 actuarial exams toward Associate designation (ASA or ACAS) preferred. - Proficiency with Excel, SQL, R, Python, SAS, or similar analytical tools. - Experience with actuarial modeling software is a plus. - Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
