The Tech Editor will be a strong editor of words and ideas, helping reporters sharpen stories, develop distinctive angles and produce coverage that stands out in a crowded tech news landscape. The role requires sharp news judgment and the ability to balance breaking news with ambitious enterprise reporting on the companies, people and trends shaping the industry. This editor should thrive in a collaborative newsroom and be able to identify opportunities to tell stories across formats — bringing together reporting, video, graphics and television segments to create compelling coverage for CNBC’s audience. Responsibilities - Edit and oversee technology coverage across CNBC’s platforms, working closely with reporters, digital teams, video producers and television editors. - Manage and develop reporters, helping them sharpen story angles, strengthen reporting and produce distinctive journalism. - Balance breaking news with enterprise reporting on the companies, people and trends shaping the tech industry. - Identify opportunities to tell stories across formats, combining reporting with video, graphics and television segments. - Generate original story ideas and guide coverage that helps CNBC stand out in a competitive tech news landscape.
