Medical Records and Health Information Manager

• Lead all medical records and release of information operations • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, payer requirements, and CARF standards • Design and implement scalable HIM workflows, policies, and tracking systems • Develop reporting metrics to improve efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Clinical Operations, Technology, and Quality teams • Train and support staff on medical records processes, documentation standards, and privacy best practices • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for health information management and patient access rights
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Release of Information, Healthcare Compliance, or a related healthcare operations role (5+ years preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Rules and medical records regulations
- Experience managing high-volume medical records requests and sensitive documentation
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience developing workflows, policies, SOPs, and process improvements
- Confidence handling complex or legally sensitive requests with sound judgment
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
