Platform Engineer

Marathon Health

• Support the design, implementation, and operation of Marathon’s cloud infrastructure platforms • Build and maintain platform components within established standards and patterns • Work closely with senior engineers and engineering teams to implement Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and self-service capabilities • Focus on execution and continuous improvement rather than platform strategy ownership • Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure components, primarily in AWS • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform • Contribute to reusable infrastructure primitives and modules as part of the shared platform • Implement automation and self-service capabilities that reduce manual operational effort • Support the integration of applications and SaaS platforms through approved patterns • Participate in improving reliability, recoverability, efficiency, and other core pillars of platform components • Follow established security, compliance, and cost-management guardrails to ensure platforms meet SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST requirements • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to deploy and improve platform capabilities • Contribute to platform documentation, runbooks, and operational standards • Support platform-related incidents and operational issues within defined standards and escalation paths • Focus on deep ownership of one or two platform domains or components

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Technology
  • 2–4 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform-focused role
  • Hands-on experience with AWS in production or pre-production environments
  • Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform preferred)
  • Working knowledge of automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with collaborative development tools (e.g., Git, GitHub)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy)
