Senior Engineer, Product Engineering
Presidio
• Lead implementation of complex software features and services from design through production deployment. • Build secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable cloud-native applications using modern engineering practices and reusable design patterns. • Write, review, test, and improve production-quality code while promoting engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, and continuous improvement. • Develop working prototypes and MVPs quickly, gathering feedback early and iterating toward production-ready solutions. • Own delivery of assigned work from planning through deployment, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely execution. • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the application stack and drive them to resolution. • Partner with architects and technical leaders to translate solution designs into well-engineered implementations. • Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to raise engineering quality across the team. • Apply sound engineering judgment when balancing technical decisions with business objectives, delivery timelines, and long-term maintainability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and delivering production applications.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or Spring.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, distributed systems, event-driven applications, and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with modern software engineering practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong understanding of software architecture fundamentals, application performance, resiliency, scalability, observability, secure development, and production operations.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and iterative software delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with product management, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as engagement needs require.
