Job Description

Retail Business Insights & Analytics Manager

Ancient Crunch Inc.

Role Description This role builds the analytics backbone for Omnichannel Retail. Turning POS, syndicated, panel, distributor and broker data into insights and decisions our sales team can act on. There's no dashboard to inherit. You're building it. The responsibilities listed below are not exhaustive. As Ancient Crunch scales, the requirements of this position will expand and adapt. The Business Insights & Analytics Manager is expected to lead new initiatives and assume additional duties consistent with this title and the long-term evolution of our sales strategy. Key Responsibilities - Retail POS analysis across our retail partners — velocity, distribution, share, and out-of-stocks - Syndicated data (Circana, Nielsen, or SPINS) — pulling it, cleaning it, turning it into a story the sales team can use in a buyer meeting - EDI and broker performance reporting — keeping our brokers and internal team honest on the same numbers - Retail scorecard — building the first version, then keeping them current - Trade spend analysis — what's working, what's burning cash for no lift - Ad hoc analysis for retail buyer meetings and internal planning — this comes up weekly, not quarterly - Own item-level P&Ls across channels, maintaining accurate and up-to-date visibility into margin, pricing, and profitability - Manage and optimize channel pricing strategy, ensuring consistency and competitiveness across retail partners - Lead pack size proliferation analysis, evaluating the financial impact of new or discontinued pack configurations - Support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process and long-term planning through scenario modeling and innovation forecasting - Serve as the retail team's A.I. lead — identifying, implementing, and championing A.I. tools and workflows to improve speed and quality of analysis - Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders - Identify opportunities to improve reporting infrastructure, trade efficiency, and analytical processes as the business scales Qualifications - Experience supporting AOP or long-term planning processes - Highly organized with strong attention to detail — accuracy is non-negotiable in this role - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work under tight deadlines - Strong communicator — able to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for non-financial stakeholders - Self-starter who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment where structure is still being built Requirements - 4-6 years in CPG retail analytics - Hands-on experience with Circana, Nielsen, or SPINS — not just reading someone else's reports - Comfortable with EDI data and broker reporting structures - SQL, plus a BI tool (Tableau, Looker, or Power BI) - Strong in Excel — you build models, not just format spreadsheets - Can work without a template. This function doesn't exist here yet Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance - A health and wellness-focused culture - All the chips you can eat! Company Description Ancient Crunch Inc. is the fastest-growing healthy snack brand in the U.S. Our flagship product, MASA Chips, is the #1 selling tallow-fried tortilla chips in premium retailers like Erewhon. We manufacture all MASA products in-house at our Hackettstown facility using real ingredients—no seed oils, artificial flavors, or preservatives.
