Title: Therapy Lead Location: United States, Remote Job Description: Job type: Full Time · Department: Clinical · Work type: Remote United States About Nema Health Nema Health is a high-growth PTSD and trauma-care startup led by clinicians and survivors. Our mission is to guide trauma survivors through every step of their healing journey—beginning with the intensive, remote delivery of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Our outcomes speak for themselves: fast, high-quality recovery delivered with empathy, rigor, and evidence-based care. At Nema, how you work matters as much as what you deliver. We are building a patient-centered, collaborative, and growth-oriented workplace, and we are looking for leaders who share that vision. Why Practice at Nema? - Unparalleled Professional Growth: Receive extensive internal training and weekly CPT technique supervision directly from Dr. Kate Chard, co-inventor of CPT. - Clinical Excellence & Rigor: Participate in cutting-edge research, program development, and receive ongoing mentorship from renowned national clinical leaders. - True Impact: Deliver highly effective, intensive care to survivors who deserve the most compassionate, evidence-based treatment available. Role Overview We are seeking a Therapy Lead to play a pivotal role in ensuring Nema’s therapists deliver exceptional, evidence-based care. Standing at the intersection of clinical care, people leadership, and operational excellence, you will serve as a "player-coach"—managing a team of therapists while maintaining your own clinical practice. This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader with deep expertise in trauma treatment, strong supervisory skills, and a passion for building high-quality, scalable care systems in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Supervision & Team Leadership - Team Management: Provide direct clinical and training supervision to a team of up to 12 Staff Trauma Therapists (STTs), ensuring strict adherence to Nema’s clinical standards, policies, and evidence-based frameworks. - Culture & Cohesion: Lead weekly team meetings to strengthen cohesion, share clinical insights, and address operational needs. - Performance Management: Conduct performance evaluations, offering structured feedback and coaching to support therapist growth. Collaborate with leadership to identify and solve challenges affecting workflow or quality. - Audit & Compliance: Conduct routine chart and documentation audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. - Operational Support: Review and approve time-off requests while ensuring adequate clinical coverage is maintained. Direct Patient Care - Clinical Practice: Provide up to 12 hours per week of direct clinical care, including diagnostic assessments and evidence-based PTSD treatments (primarily CPT). - Flexibility: Clinical hours may fluctuate based on team size. During periods with fewer than 12 direct reports, you may be asked to temporarily increase clinical hours (e.g., performing clinical evaluations to be transitioned to other therapists). - Group Facilitation: Participate in developing and facilitating therapeutic groups (e.g., CPT graduate groups, DBT skills groups) as needed. Risk Management & Safety - Consultation: Offer expert case consultation for high-risk or clinically complex situations. - Escalation Support: Provide daily back-up support to therapists regarding patient safety and risk escalations. - On-Call Rotation: Provide one evening per week of after-hours risk/safety back-up support. Hiring & Onboarding - Talent Acquisition: Participate in second-round interviews for prospective Staff Trauma Therapists. - Onboarding: Orient new STTs to Nema’s clinical workflows, policies, and organizational culture. - Training: Coordinate clinical evaluation shadowing and feedback sessions for new hires to ensure clinical readiness. Qualifications Required Minimum Qualifications - Licensure: Master’s or Doctoral-level clinician with valid licensure (LCSW, LMHC, PhD, PsyD, etc.). - Experience: 3–5 years of post-graduate clinical experience, with at least 2 years of specific experience supervising, training, or managing therapists. - CPT Expertise: Current CPT Provider status with deep expertise in evidence-based PTSD treatment. - Webside Manner: Excellent clinical skills including diagnostic accuracy, a strong virtual presence, and mastery of remote CPT delivery. - Attributes: Highly organized, critical thinker, and reliable. You must be able to balance clinical responsibilities with administrative/supervisory duties. - Mindset: Mission-driven commitment to patient-centered care with an openness to feedback and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications - Licensure: Licensure in California (CA), Michigan (MI), Massachusetts (MA), New York (NY), and/or Texas (TX) is strongly preferred. - Mobility: PsyPact eligibility. - Additional Modalities: Training in Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Prolonged Exposure (PE), or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). - Startup Experience: Prior experience working in the early stages of a group practice or high-growth healthcare company. Schedule & Logistics - Standard Hours: This role is scheduled for either 9:30 AM–6:00 PM or 10:00 AM–6:30 PM. While these hours are based on your local time zone, we strongly prefer candidates who are available to work during these hours in the Pacific Time Zone. - Remote: This is a fully remote position. Compensation & Benefits - Salary: $115,000-$130,000 base salary (commensurate with experience). - Time Off: Generous paid time off (PTO) package, which includes a dedicated annual holiday block break. - Health & Wellness: Comprehensive healthcare stipend and paid parental leave. - Financial Future: 401(k) with company match. - Professional Development: Dedicated continuing education stipend to support your licensure and growth.
