Who we are Invert is Bioprocess AI Software purpose-built to accelerate the development of life-changing therapies and sustainable products. We unify fragmented bioprocess data into a real-time, AI-ready foundation that enables faster, more confident decisions — because delays in bioprocessing cost more than money. Scientists today are too often forced to work in the dark. Critical data gets siloed across systems, delaying insight and increasing risk. Invert connects to bioreactors, instruments, and lab systems (LIMS, ELNs), continuously harmonizing time-series and offline data. Our built-in intelligence layer surfaces issues as they emerge, empowering teams to course-correct in real time — not after the damage is done. The team You will be joining one of our North American engineering teams to tackle some of the most challenging product-based engineering questions we face today. Here is what we are building on: Backend: Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL Infrastructure: Terraform IaC hosted on AWS Frontend: Next.js with TypeScript and TailwindCSS hosted on Vercel Collaboration tools: GitHub, Linear, Slack, Notion What you'll do As a Senior Software Engineer, you will ensure that your team efficiently ships new features that meet the specifications and standards set by our Product team. Additionally, you will ensure that your team makes sound technical decisions that allow us to sustainably scale our user base and the surface area of our products. Because this is a senior role, you will deliver on this mission through both hands-on delivery and project leadership. Candidates are assessed between each of these stages. The hiring manager is responsible for communicating decisions and next steps throughout the process. We aim to complete all stages within two weeks. Discovery: A 30-minute conversation with the hiring manager to determine whether there is mutual interest in moving forward. Technical Coding Challenge: A 90-minute interview with two different employees to assess technical coding competencies. Technical Leadership Challenge: A 60-minute working session with two employees to assess technical leadership competencies. Founder Chat: 30-minute meet-and-greet with one or both of the founders (depending on whether they have already participated in previous interviews). Head of Engineering Chat: 30-minute meet-and-greet with our Head of Engineering to answer your questions. Invert is an equal opportunity employer.
